13/10/2025: We stayed here during the autumn break - for a fairly fair price for one night. The rooms were good - we had a "normal" and a "deluxe" room - it is in no way worth paying extra for a better room because the standard is the same. The hotel is located in a very quiet area with good parking - even a Norlys lightning charger right at the entrance. BUT!!! The breakfast buffet was a somewhat mixed experience - Chocolate mousse that was too old (inedible), reheated (hard) pancakes with a strange unrecognizable aftertaste - no orange juice... On the other hand, there was delicious freshly baked bread - but overall probably the worst breakfast I have experienced at Scandic over the years.

10/09/2025: The food was delicious, well-prepared and good takes on sharing food. We ordered WAY too much, but when you leave satisfied and the price was still affordable, it's totally ok. Service was top notch. Sweet young people who did everything they could to ensure that we - and especially our two-year-old son - had an excellent evening. Had a nice chat, helped, asked questions - without being interruptive. Atmosphere: nice place, a bit small with all that entails in terms of both atmosphere and a bit of noise - the music was good, a bit loud, but festive.

30/08/2025: We visited as a group of four and were happy to get a table without a reservation on a Saturday evening. The staff were friendly and attentive, which we truly appreciated. Unfortunately, the food did not live up to the price. Most of the menu consisted of small vegetable dishes, snacks, and bread — nicely presented but lacking in both flavor and substance. For 2000 DKK, we expected more variety and quality, yet we all left still hungry. While the atmosphere and service were very good, the value for money was not.

05/10/2025: Really good place, she makes dinner dishes such as roast, steak with onions and fried pork. Very good, the steak sandwich here is perfect..

26/10/2025: It’s best to reserve a table in advance. I saw customers being ushered to outdoor seats (in the chilly 10°C weather) because the restaurant was fully booked. I enjoyed the flavorful lobster soup, which was the special dish of the day. My husband loved the open-faced roast beef sandwich—it was absolutely delectable—and the juicy IPA from Jacobsen. Our bill came to 1,029 DKK (about €140), and I highly recommend leaving a 10% tip for the hardworking and attentive waiting staff. It’s a lovely Danish tradition—the staff placed a small Danish flag on the table for us celebrating our birthdays. I had requested a window seat, and the staff graciously arranged it.

28/11/2025: The cafe's atmosphere was a bit awkward at first, as they weren't many people inside and there was no music. A group of young Danish lightened the mood when they arrived. The staff were friendly and efficient, no complains here. We order a drink each and a tapas plate. The quantity of food on the plate was a little under our expectations, given its price. The biggest flaw was the quality of the food we've been served. It was alright at best, but really felt like leftovers from the morning's brunch. Worst part was the meat and charcuterie, awfull taste and cooking. We forced ourselves to finish the plate because of the money we've invested in. We shouldn't have, one of us felt sick the night after. If you want to have a drink in the café, why not, but definitely reconsider if you want to eat there.

14/11/2025: t’s a great place to start the day. I’ve been here many times, and it’s always a really nice experience. The staff are super friendly, and I always enjoy coming here. They also have a buffet every day, which is definitely worth trying. This is my favourite spot in Copenhagen. See you again soon!

01/09/2025: It is always a pleasure to come to Mathiesen! The atmosphere is good and relaxed, where you feel comfortable and know that you will be taken care of in the best way. The service is really good and the waiters are alert and ready to quickly jump in if there is something or if you are missing something. There is a good dialogue and an honest story about the food and what to pay attention to. There is no overselling and you can feel that they want a good experience for their guests, rather than pressuring people into something. They have a distinguished selection of drinks and their food is extremely satisfying. It is especially wonderful to see that fresh hand-peeled shrimp are served, which shows that quality is prioritized, which is also reflected in their food. Their sandwiches with cheese are really good and the size is not to be complained about at all. Their evening menu is also really good and the composition is well considered. See you again soon. 😊
