18/10/2026: A truly wonderful experience, where we started out on the benches in the wine room, with a formidable glass of wine, as we had arrived at the restaurant in good time, in relation to our table reservation. The evening offered a wealth of good Italian dishes paired with excellent wines, which we left to the restaurant to put together. Each serving was a great experience and especially the wines that were from the restaurant's own imports surprised us positively time and time again. A nice memory to carry with me from the celebration of my birthday.

28/08/2026: This tiny eatery is a true gem in Copenhagen. It's run by a nice Japanese couple and specializes in sushi. They welcomed me in today for lunch. I am half Japanese and was craving some home food. The sushi truly tastes like sushi and everything I tried had an authentic Japanese taste. I highly recommend if you are looking for real Japanese food. They have a specials board as well (I also ordered the spicy tofu off the board). Even the ocha tasted so good. At the end while paying, I noticed they have onigiri for takeaway which was another happy surprise! They are well sized and mine had a generous amount of salmon (shake). 05/07/2026: A very different experience, sleeping in an indoor tent! Everything went smoothly, everything was super clean and the staff was kind and smiling. Great position and an useful food court and vegetables market just near the hostel. Will come back!

23/03/2026: For the price pretty good hostel. I liked that at least at the time I booked the room the price of all female hostel and regular ones were the same (this should be the standard for every hostel, I don’t wanna sleep in the same room with old german dude!!) For cleanliness I say its ok, in the evening showers start to smell a bit but overall pretty clean. The common space gets very busy on the weekends but after that it’s pretty chill, mainly people on their laptops working. The location of the hostel is also good. Felt pretty safe going there in day time and the evening. There are near by Lidl, 7eleven, mcdonald’s (🤮), as far as I understood it’s also kinda muslim neighbourhood so many tasty kebab places. I think its near by metro but if you’re not carrying heavy luggage you can just walk straight Nørrebrogade street and explore the second hand shops. If you book through their website its gonna be cheaper and you gonna get free drink voucher and a towel. You need to bring your own locker. Overall, if needed I could stay here again.

26/08/2026: I am making this review to warn people that the kitchen closes at 9pm, three hours before the stated closing time of midnight. I asked the manager to please post on their website when the last seating occurs, but they were not interested in providing this information to future customers.!

12/09/2026: This is a great little sandwich place. I had the turkey emmenthal and it was very enjoyable, with quality ingredients and well balanced flavours. The staff were friendly and the chairs are really comfortable! Highly recommended if you’re after a quick and satisfying lunch.

02/09/2026: We ordered online and went to the place for the pick up. The restaurant itself was quite nice. Big tables and probably awesome for big groups. The pizza was delicious. Fluffy dough and good amount of cheese and vegetables. We were really happy!

19/06/2026: My partner and I stayed here for our wedding and it was so fantastic. The staff made us feel so special and welcomed and the property is so beautiful and cozy! Great location too. Would absolutely stay here again!

29/05/2026: Great boutique hotel in the heart of Copenhagen. Close to everything, restaurants, bars, grocery store, canal boats, transportation all at your doorstep. Rooms were remodeled with high end fixtures and we had a mini bar with sink and fridge.

15/09/2026: We arrived just before 21:30 but they told us that the kitchen was closed. Disappointing as the hours posted on their website did not reflect this at all saying they were open until 23:00.

05/10/2026: I really enjoyed this place! I went with my friend and we had such a good time. The food was really good and everything tasted fresh, but what I liked most was the whole experience. We are there for more then 2hours but honestly it went by so fast because we were just eating, talking, laughing and enjoying our time. It’s not the kind of place where you just come, eat and leave — you can actually relax and spend a few hours here with friends or family. My friend loved it too, and we both left really happy. Definitely a place I’d come back to and recommend to others! ❤️🍲

27/09/2026: Hotpot Republic is the OG of hotpot in Copenhagen but they just are not a good option unless you want very overpriced samples of food. My wife and I came here to compare the OG to the new restaurants that opened up in the past year and a half in Copenhagen. My wife is Chinese and has grown up with hotpot so I view her as a good judge. We are part of a hotpot club here in Copenhagen which is made up of many Chinese expats in Denmark. First and foremost, this place is grossly overpriced. It is easily the most expensive of the 7 hotpot and malatang restaurants in Copenhagen or Frederiksberg. You can go to either Potzilla or Kasai and have an all inclusive experience for substantially less than the 379 kr experience at Hotpot Republic, even during peak hours. The “dipping sauce” you get here is super limited and not very good if you want an authentic hotpot experience. The selection of ingredients that comes with the experience is small and there’s very little of it. Service is a common thing people complain about and when we visited, it was no exception. The service is not good, even when the restaurant is empty. Hotpot is supposed to be a personal experience in a restaurant like this. Here, the experience is not your own, it is what the owner wants you to experience. Hotpot has evolved in Copenhagen, from Mr. Hotpot to Potzilla, with 3 malatang restaurants and Kasai in between. Hopefully Hotpot Republic will get with the times because it is easily the worst hotpot experience in Copenhagen. Out of 7 hotpot restaurants in our city, this is number 7 and is not close to number 6.
