25/05/2025: Wow, the soft ice cream (medium size) was really small. You would think it was a small child's size.
For that price I expected a normal size ice cream.
21/04/2025: their guf is simply world class. I could literally eat a whole waffle just with that. but also their ice cream is really delicious and the waffles home-baked. the price is a little on the high end, but quality comes at a price, as you know.

28/04/2025: I have had food delivered twice now from Gæstgivergaarden and it has been to UG both times (Christmas and Easter). The food tastes really nice, everything is well prepared and in ample quantities and nicely wrapped. And so cool that they also offer delivery.
A warm recommendation from here.

27/05/2025: Had ordered brunch for 9 people - 6 adults and 3 children.
Their website said buffet, but it was plate dishes. That's okay when there are few guests, but the food was splattered on top of each other and the cake of the day was a piece of layer cake, clearly from the day before.
There was plenty of food and it tasted okay, but the dish was beyond criticism and not appetizing.
The waitress was grumpy and very service-minded.
The children were scolded and ordered to the table, then stood and waited nicely for their grandmother outside the ladies' toilet.
You can do much, much better!!
04/05/2025: Nice location, good food, lovely desserts with chocolate fountain. Super good service and atmosphere created by two Polish waiters. Thank you so much for a lovely day yesterday.🙏❤️

Cozy, local, friendly service - nice place to come, I miss better bread though, including sourdough bread, ciabatta bread, Manitoba bread

They mainly sell takeaway. Only a few people stay there and eat as there is not much seating.
13/04/2025: No fault in the food but hygiene could be better. Please teach the young people that you change gloves after serving anything other than food. Instead of serving the food, the till/phone and then food again WITHOUT changing gloves

20/04/2025: Coffee tastes awful. I’m having an Americano, and it doesn’t even taste like coffee more like bitter hot water. This isn’t just about this branch, it’s the same in every Espresso House I’ve tried. Easily the worst coffee I’ve ever had. I wouldn’t drink it again even if it were free.
15/04/2025: Good cakes and good service 👍🏽 I love tea ☕️ their tea selection is not very good, they need a few more modern and even herbal variants 😅 but still overall a nice place 👍🏽

27/01/2025: Vi bestilte 2 pizzaer som takeaway- det er så første og sidste gang vi gør det.
De var tørre og skinke pizzaen havde en dårlig smag - skinken var måske af dårlig kvalitet.
Pizzaen med parmaskinke og ruccola var ok.

19/11/2024: We just held our silver wedding at Cafe Bakken. Beth (the owner) had made delicious tappas in many varieties, baked cake and homemade filled chocolate. Everything is homemade and really tasty. We were all full and there was enough food to fill your plate several times. The next day we were together with the family who participated in the party and there was a lot of talk about the food and the good and cozy hospitality. 👏👍👌
