14/02/2025: The service was good enough with skilled waiters and the atmosphere was lovely and cozy. Where it went a little downhill was when we called 11 times to get in touch with them and the phones were down, we paid 1800 for 2 hard-boiled eggs with steamed leeks and incredibly dry meat with watery gravy and also paid 75kr for a bottle of water that we alone did not get a choice of whether we wanted it or not.
05/12/2024: First visit to Bistro59 and I was ready to come back the next day!
This little gem in the middle of Aalborg is unique in every way
The food is fantastically prepared from the best ingredients and is served with enthusiasm by a waiter who, in a pleasant way, both presents the food and advises on the best choice of wine for each course.
The harmony between food, wine, service and quality is unmistakable.
The next visit to this fantastic place will be in the near future

26/07/2025: Super cute girls/women who were in charge of the service. Incredibly helpful and fantastic at their job.
The cake we had tasted super good, wonderfully spongy and full of flavor. Delicious coffee with really good flavor.
Nice that you could make your coffee with lactose-free milk.
Highly recommended if you want to enjoy a delicious cup of coffee full of flavor
23/07/2025: When 4 people are doing everything else than serving customers in line, then the service is not really felt.. Seriously waited minutes while staff was doing other stuff in front of me.... and I was first in line... Coffee, cake and ice-cream was ok, but nothing special

17/08/2025: The food was inedible; we had a doner kebab and a durum kebab. The meat had a very strange consistency and a very bad taste. The bread tasted dusty and also had a strange flavor. We lost our appetite after the first bite. This has absolutely nothing to do with the doner kebab we're used to in Germany.
To be honest, I didn't even want my daughter to take another bite because I was very unsure whether the food was even edible or just rotten. They'll never see us again.

11/10/2024: Cozy place, friendly service, the food was good and we got a much needed break
05/10/2024: Overall, it's just a nice café. You can sit inside or outside. There are little things everywhere, like dishes, candle holders, figurines, etc., all of which you can also buy. Not unusual for Danish cafés. We've seen things like this before and often find them cute because of their diverse and varied decor.
Prices are reasonable.

15/06/2025: The cake here is baked with a lot of love, and you can taste it. Whenever we're in the area, we always stop by. The cake is always worth the time! It's great that bakeries like this still exist. Keep it up!

And the price was quite fair.
The service was friendly and accommodating.

18/08/2025: Tonight we went here for a second time without a reservation because we enjoyed it so much yesterday. The steak with delicious potatoes, burger, fish and chips, and especially the plaice were delicious! Simple food as it should be—superb! The staff is very friendly, and the terrace with a sea view is well-organized and cheerfully decorated. It's sunny, but it looks very cozy inside for colder days. Definitely recommended! If we weren't going home tomorrow, we would have come back a third time.
29/07/2025: I was here for the first time in 2018 and ate the best plaice of my life at the Hirtshals Kro (and as a fish eater, I've eaten a lot of plaice). Today, 7 years later, I was back and I have to say that the plaice is still very good. Not as good as I remember, but you always have to remember that we're talking about marine life here, and every fish can taste different. The fish and chips were definitely better in the past. Especially because people have a different understanding of what fish and chips means. Please do it again like it was in 2018.

12/07/2025: Went here with some friends when we wanted to try the new Maximum in Aalborg, and their restaurant, unfortunately the experience is not at all the same as the one in Skalborg. The quality of the food is not at all the same. One of our group even got acute diarrhea, and then had to spend a lot of time in the toilet.

Nice little snack bar to enjoy while waiting for the ferry. With your tickets, you can leave the shipping company's premises through the revolving gate.

06/08/2025: The shooting star was different but not bad. Missing eggs but the fresh mangetout were nice.
Really nice for the kids to draw and leave rocks but some people were taking place to play board games when we just wanted to eat.
30/07/2025: I understand why there weren't really any customers. It used to be packed. I got a smoked salmon salad sandwich. There were 3 pieces of old lettuce (if they weren't old they would have beaten the poor lettuce leaves) but the bread actually tasted good.

01/08/2025: Ordered 6 different pizzas, they were pretty much inedible. I can't remember having had anything so bad before. The base was dry and soft, the ingredients most of all resembled something that should have been used as dog food. It is completely incomprehensible to me that this place has received more than 1 star.
