17/07/2026: We went to this restaurant on a Thursday because it was close to the campsite where we were staying. We were disappointed to find it closed, even though we arrived before closing time. The following Friday, we arrived two hours before closing time, and the kitchen was closed again. Not recommended for dinner.

31/05/2026: Slow service, overall just a weird experience. Food ok but nothing wow.

31/05/2026: We have decided to try this place for the first time. The menu looks interesting. We asked the girl at the bar if we could eat here. She approved and We were offered a table and given a menu card. It was not a problem to find a seat as the place inside was completely empty and there were plenty of free tables on the terrace. We were ready to order dishes, I got up to go to the cashier and place my order. However, another waitress who happened to be nearby, apparently in a bad mood, said quite abruptly that we are not allowed to eat here and she would not take our order that day, even though no one had asked her. We have been infected from . I was disappointed with the attitude and the customer service. I cannot recommend this place as I have lost my appetite, but also my mood.

08/09/2025: I have never been to a “restaurant” where you have to come up to the counter and order your food. The restaurant is more like a canteen, with 4 sweet waiters who really want to serve customers at the table and take orders, but were prevented by the head waiter because it has to go through their computer…. You are even asked to “when you know what you want, just come in and order” The food is mediocre, but a big disappointment for the price. Super bad service, but not the waiters’ fault.👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽

14/08/2025: In the small ice cream parlor on the corner they advertise Vebbestrup ice cream on several signs, but it's only the scoop ice cream, not soft ice cream (and you can't tell from the signs!). As soon as you hold it in your hand, you have no doubt that it's something completely different, at least not from Vebbestrup, possibly not even cream ice cream, it melts into a thin liquid as soon as you hold it in your hand and tastes almost like nothing, just frozen water with sugar and maybe milk powder. The choco sprinkles are a strange brown crunchy sugar mixture, almost like blended ymer sprinkles with sugar, and there were remnants of some of the other types of sprinkles in it. Really bad ice cream, which I wouldn't even eat if it was free. The bread for the French hot dog was dry and rubbery, and apparently too small to fit the sausage in it, so it was served in two pieces. All in all, a disappointing experience. Haven't tried the restaurant's food, but don't see much reason to after this.

03/07/2026: Today I bought a pack of rum truffles in Salling in Aarhus. They cost 149 kr for a pack of 6. I thought I wanted something extraordinary for my coffee. But oh my. Personally and in terms of taste, they are far from worth the money. After buying them, I discover that they are made with dates. That is what they are, but they taste of nothing, and I mean simply nothing. The pink one is with strawberries, and has a slight taste of strawberries. The dark one is with regular dark chocolate, and it now also has a nice chocolate taste. What they all have in common is that the chocolate on the outside is thick and crunches nicely when I take a bite, but as I said, the others taste of nothing. Unfortunately, I have to say that if I could give 0 stars, they would have. Not worth the money at all. A really bad experience and 149 kr poorer 🥹

01/08/2026: **Visit:** July 31, 2026 at 5:30 p.m.–6:30 p.m. The restaurant has mixed opinions. Especially in the Facebook group *Skagen*, there are both very positive and very critical opinions from locals, and tourists from many different countries have given very different reviews. Before my visit, I therefore decided to investigate the restaurant more closely. I read reviews on Trustpilot, Tripadvisor, Facebook and Google Reviews, which together amount to around 477 reviews. After reading them, I therefore arrived with some skepticism – especially about how the staff would handle the guests, and whether the many negative reviews would be noticeable during the visit. ## The food The hot dishes generally tasted really good. Several of the dishes were influenced by the classic Chinese cuisine **椒盐 (jiāoyán)** – the well-known combination of salt and pepper, which originates from the Guangdong province and Hong Kong. Of course, one can discuss how much the dishes are adapted to Danish taste buds. All the hot dishes were at the correct serving temperature, and I had no problems with the quality. ## Sushi The only area where I think the restaurant could improve is the presentation of the sushi buffet. Here it seems as if more emphasis has been placed on quantity than on presentation. The sushi itself tasted quite good, but the buffet appeared a bit messy and therefore less inviting. Restaurant Asia serves, among other things: * Sushi with tempura chicken * Sushi with tempura shrimp These varieties do not contain raw fish, but deep-fried ingredients. In Japanese restaurants, this type of sushi is often prepared in advance and served cold, which is completely normal. In many Chinese restaurants, on the other hand, it is often prepared together with the hot kitchen, where it can be served warm when ordered. Therefore, guests should be aware of the difference between classic sushi with raw fish and tempura sushi, which is a completely different type of sushi. ## Constructive criticism The Mongolian BBQ could also be explained better. Many guests who are unfamiliar with the concept may mistakenly believe that the food is cold or unfinished. A brief explanation in both Danish and English would likely prevent many misunderstandings and thus also a number of negative reviews. In addition, the restaurant could consider: * Clearer signage at the Mongolian BBQ. * Visible hand sanitizer dispensers on both sides of the buffet. * Turning or stirring rice, noodles, and the like a little more often to give the buffet a more inviting look. This is not a requirement, but it improves the overall impression. ## My rating ### Food – 5/5 The temperature of both hot and cold dishes was correct. Fish, shellfish, and raw materials seemed fresh, and the sushi tasted fine without any comments. ### Hygiene – 5/5 The staff cleaned continuously during the visit, without it seeming disruptive. The restaurant generally appeared clean and well-maintained. ### Staff – 4/5 The staff was busy. Some were very smiling, while others were more focused on their work tasks. However, I did not experience any bad service or rude treatment. ### Drinks – 4/5 Water is not free, which foreign tourists should be aware of. However, this is common practice at many restaurants in Denmark. ### Buffet rules – 5/5 As in most Chinese restaurants, the entire party chooses either buffet or à la carte. This is a normal rule and nothing special for Restaurant Asia. ## Overall rating **⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4 out of 5)** After my visit, I must say that I did not experience the serious problems described by several reviews. The food was well-cooked, the temperature was correct, the hygiene was good, and the service was completely acceptable. Therefore, I have difficulty recognizing the restaurant's bad reputation. The inspection reports from the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration do not indicate any problems either. I believe that some of the criticism may be due to misunderstandings about the Mongolian BBQ and the different types of sushi. Overall, I had a good experience and would have no problem recommending the restaurant to others.

13/08/2026: The food was okay, but the customer service was awful. The waitress was very rude and openly sighed when we tried to understand her contradictory explanations about the menu choices. Ordering in English was a mess: she gave confusing answers, then looked at us judgmentally and raised her eyebrows just because we wanted standard toppings on our hot dogs. She then impatiently listed the sauces, repeating options we had already asked for. A total lack of patience and politeness. It's a shame, because while the food was passable, the service completely ruined the experience.

13/08/2026: We had their hot dogs and found them inedible for our taste. The cucumbers were frozen.

13/06/2026: Bella Firenze is a local restaurant which specializes in Italian dishes, however also serves brazilian steak and Mexican food. The steak was somewhat tough, not steakhouse quality, however ok. The deserts was fine: a local version of the dame blache.

09/06/2026: We were welcomed as a group of eight, despite the late hour (8 p.m.). They only served pizzas, but they were served very quickly. We enjoyed them; they were very generous portions. Choosing was difficult for us, as there was a wide variety, and many of the options were unfamiliar (spaghetti pizza, pineapple calzone, etc.). The waitress left early, saying goodbye.

06/07/2026: Bad manager/tenant. There is always nonsense when you want to pay by phone, no help, always asked to drive somewhere else and shop. I don't understand why he is still there. The nice, nice girls who are usually there have stopped. No one wants to look at the board of directors with a sour face.

15/01/2026: Really bad style. My daughter orders a too good to go on 15/1-26. And we drive down for it Is there at 9:05 pm and she is then told they don't have anything super bad style now that you've driven after it. Then is told she has to go in and make sure to delete it in the app so she can get her money back After we drive away it is only canceled Even though there were many things left down there The employee seems completely indifferent Really bad service

06/06/2026: Got a delicious mega burger with fries just before closing time. Freshly prepared and great taste. What more could you want?

06/08/2026: Great pizza at a good price. Unfortunately, we couldn't bring our dog into the restaurant. However, we ordered online and had the pizza delivered to our campervan at the sailing club.

29/07/2026: Highly recommended – attentive and friendly service. The food was delicious (homemade pepper sauce) – excellent value for money. We would definitely come again!
