12/09/2025: A perfectly decent meal, a bit tasteless. Lousy service. Forgot about us, it wasn't okay. Especially since we were about the only guests there. Sad place, will never go back there! Reply to owner! You owner has clearly confused me with someone else. I'm not a young lady, nor did I go in and out again and then go directly to your alley, I didn't visit the neighboring place, I ate about half a portion of the food, it wasn't bad - just a little tasteless. A waiter showed me a place out to the back garden and forgot about me and my party there. Sad when the owner doesn't admit, but explains away. And then blames the guest. Stay away from this place when there is such an attitude here! New update! This is childish of the owner, update the answer and argue about who I am and what I eat and don't eat! Not serious! Here in Norway, service is paramount, "the customer is always right"! Here Cafe Kysten has A LOT to learn! You don't "argue" with guests and the owner just MUST and SHOULD be right! This is just so low-brow, this is NOT serious from the owner! I have never tasted shooting stars and I don't drink wine. And now I think you're changing your answer again!

31/07/2025: We stayed for two nights in mid July. Very hospitable and friendly owner, rooms were large and as advertised. The kitchen was well equipped, and the whole apartment was fresh and clean. We will for sure return!

31/07/2025: We stayed here for two nights and liked it very much. The owner was very helpful and friendly, and the apartment was nice and clean with plenty of space for our family of four to sleep, hang out and cook our meals.

27/08/2025: I booked a total of three rooms here, because I am getting married nearby. Two days before the date, I suddenly get a message from them through booking.com informing that the hotel is unstaffed from 13:00 on Friday through 0800 on mondays, and that checkin is only possible through an app. This is very unexpected and I cannot risk not being able to check in. Furthermore, without this information available at the time of reservation this constitutes a change in the agreement outside of what is logical and reasonable. - Update: after contacting the hotel they were willing to have staff around which helped us check in. But I find the situation rather unfortunate nonetheless.

12/07/2025: I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The rooms were spotlessly clean, and the entire place felt very well-maintained. The food was delicious — both breakfast and dinner offered a great variety, and everything was fresh and tasty. What really stood out to me was the friendly and helpful staff. They made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. The atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing — perfect for a short getaway. I would definitely come back and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for comfort, good food, and great service.

18/08/2025: Got something much better, we bought 3 rolls and a piece of breakfast bread, the coarse bircher was edible, the rest was dry. We spent the night at the lake in a camper, not a bakery we regularly use.

10/07/2025: There are 3 clerks, one is running the store, the other 2 are looking, ut would like to buy a cup of coffee, I try and ask for sugar, they say you can buy sugar somewhere else, ut says the coffee machine is not finished brewing, then all three shrug.

24/06/2025: Simply the best pizzas in all of Aalborg. Far better ingredients than all the pizzerias that use cheap meat. Here you only get quality for the money and you can really taste it. Do yourself a favor, visit this place and have an experience. I will definitely come again with the whole family. Thank you for the wonderful food.

29/08/2024: Nice potato food and omelette. If the food is to have four stars, the rye bread must be home-baked and preferably crispy butter-fried for the omelette so that it is not soggy. But fresh lovely food we got. It is stressful to sit as a customer and watch a waiter have to be able to service an entire restaurant alone at the same time as she has to look after the bar. It's not okay. Poor staff

16/08/2025: På en berømt ålekro skulle man forvente, at de kunne stege ål. Jeg fik et fad overvejende halestykker, der virkede, som om de var overpanerede og stegt i harskt pandefedt fra i går. Det gjorde overfladen hård og kødet slattent uden smag. Det er trist for 300 kr.

12/08/2025: Vi har fået den bedste betjening, på denne gemte perle. Sød tjener, fantastisk rigeligt mad. God historisk oplysning. Fantastisk udsigt. Det kan betale sig at kører efter.

22/08/2025: We were there on our last evening in Denmark, essentially wrapping up our vacation. The restaurant wasn't too crowded, and the service was super friendly and absolutely child-friendly! Our orders were delivered quickly, so the drinks were refreshingly cold and the food arrived piping hot. Everything tasted just right, too. The price was perfectly reasonable for a beautiful, small holiday village in Denmark.

07/08/2025: Welcoming and very good service from all the staff. Smiles all over the place. We had 5 children with us and they were all more than welcome. The food came at the same time, no mistakes, cold drinks and very large portions. The children couldn't finish their meal, so we got to-go packages to take home. Definitely worth a visit and highly recommended from here.
