21/07/2025: Undoubtedly the best Indian food in Denmark. Everything here is prepared from scratch and no pre cooked sauces are used which makes the food really stand out. Chicken Biryani is extraordinary and unmatched in Denmark. Unfortunately no Indian restaurant in Copenhagen is even close to food served in this restaurant.

20/07/2025: One of the best South Indian food that I’ve ever had in Denmark.. It’s a family run restaurant and the perfect host and cook combo would make sure that you feel at home. Now I understand why every review is so emotionally driven 🥲 Highly recommended !!

07/06/2025: The room clearly showed signs of wear and tear and unfortunately smelled of sewage. Most of the furniture was either broken or in such poor condition that it should have been replaced at least a decade ago. On the other hand, the gourmet menu with accompanying wine menu really enhanced the overall experience. The sweet waiters made an effort to present both dishes and wines, and there was certainly nothing missing – neither by the glass nor on the plate. So come with a good appetite and be ready to roll back to the room with a solid brandy 😄

10/06/2025: We were 3 people on a Saturday night, had booked a table, it is often necessary at that restaurant, we got a lovely table close to the window facing the harbor, great service from a young male waiter, and the restaurant was almost full. We ordered, like many others in the restaurant, Stjerneskud with everything, and there is nothing missing, here they also use crayfish tails on the menu, as well as delicious shrimp, boiled and fried plaice and of course a piece of salmon with black caviar and salad. It is delicious, it is also a large meal, as long as it is fish, it does not fill up in the same way as beef. It is always worth a visit.

12/07/2025: Tucked away down a small side street, Restaurant Johansens is a beautiful and cozy spot that’s well worth seeking out. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff were incredibly polite and attentive. When the food arrived, each dish was nicely presented and explained in detail. I had their stjerneskud, which was delicious and generously portioned — I couldn’t have eaten another bite afterwards. My girlfriend ordered the tartare, which she found decent, though not particularly memorable. Another person in our group had the chicken salad, which they said was quite good, while the open-faced potato sandwich turned out to be a bit disappointing, with underwhelming potatoes and a rather bland overall impression. We were lucky to get a table without a reservation, but I’d recommend booking in advance if you plan to go — it seemed like the kind of place that could get quite busy at times. All in all, it was a very pleasant dining experience in lovely surroundings. While it may not reach the absolute top tier of gourmet dining, it’s certainly a place I’d recommend for a nice meal in Kolding.
