23/08/2025: Everything is expensive - here too... but it's good stuff.

17/04/2025: Lousy service. Was going to pick up package 3 behind the counter. 1 served a customer in the bakery the other 2 arranged bread. 2 stood and waited to pick up packages. And the 2 then continued to prepare bread, when one was finished she went and served me, when I had received my package I wanted to buy 2 buns, she couldn't take it and called her at the bakery department.... it seems too bad to have to wait for a package when there are 2 who could dispatch 😡

12/01/2026: We ordered 2 durum and a pita bread, now we are all about to shit ourselves, it came shortly after, we will never come again.

29/11/2025: What is called “highly-laden” sandwiches for 70 kr each consisted of a cold fish (probably from the freezer bag) and the vet’s night snack with a fat slice of liver pâté. Absolutely nothing was homemade, not even the side dishes. Rye bread was tasteless. Beer and water for 40 kr each. Coffee and cold pretzel for 75 kr each. The deal was 100 pieces, but the restaurateur just put in 20 extra without prior agreement at full price, which were not eaten. A disappointing experience for all 60 guests at the memorial service after the funeral. Absolutely NOT recommended.

17/12/2025: Ordered the food on Friday and sent them an email about my experience on Saturday - today Wednesday I still haven't heard anything. I wrote to them: It was quite a boring experience with food that wasn't hot and spring rolls that weren't soft. When I ordered at 6:22 PM it said it wouldn't be ready until 7:15 PM and that was fine on a busy Friday. But at 7 PM I got a text message that the food was ready so that was nice - but it must have been waiting longer and was ready and was cold and boring. Take care of your otherwise good reputation. Regards Charlotte Hi again, After reading your response I just want to inform you that within 5 minutes of picking up the food (I live close by), we sat down to eat and started with the spring rolls, which were eaten from the open "China box". 12/12/2025: So much flavour, and with nice body and depth. These are *bodied* taste experiences. And the greatest, juiciest chicken skewer I have ever had in my life - and my friend went to culinary school, so I consider that having said a bit. The people are kind and upfront, and service is, as thus, incredible; If you're in doubt, you can safely go to Rødhættes for an awesome night, just in power of the food alone.

06/11/2025: Ordered a Durum with Greek steak. When ordering, it says that it should be without tomato and dressing. When I'm about to eat it, there is dressing and tomato in it. And 1 steak cut out! That's not right at the price they charged for it.

02/11/2025: We picked up take away: Spaghetti Marinara, mixed salad and crustini. And everything was eaten up. Stop full. And we have often been to Italy. Food was ready on time, freshly prepared and hot. There was perhaps a little noise in the restaurant, but otherwise life and happy days on a busy Friday. We will come (pick up) again.

23/09/2025: Review of Restaurant California in Frederikshavn Restaurant California at Lodsgade 4 in Frederikshavn offers an authentic and satisfying burger experience that I highly recommend. I visited while in Skagen for the day and was drawn to the cozy ambiance and welcoming atmosphere. I ordered the Texas Burger, which came with a warm bun, a 200g beef patty, salsa, jalapenos, cheddar cheese, lettuce, onions, pickles, and homemade dressing, all served with crispy fries. The flavors were bold, with the jalapenos adding just the right amount of spice, and the homemade dressing tying everything together perfectly. My wife chose the Hollywood Burger, featuring the same delicious 200g beef patty, topped with sautéed mushrooms, onion rings, cheddar cheese, lettuce, onions, pickles, and the house-made dressing, also accompanied by fries. She loved the richness of the mushrooms and onion rings, which gave the burger a unique, hearty flavor. For our daughter, the Children’s Burger was a hit. A simple, well-sized burger served with fries, it was the perfect portion for her. Restaurant California not only delivered on flavor but also on service. The staff was attentive and friendly, adding to the overall enjoyable experience. 13/12/2025: A delightful place with a superb breakfast. The bread with whipped butter and scones are delicious. If you're lucky enough to find the sticky toffee, it's a must-try. The place is very cute and plays good, unobtrusive music.

09/12/2025: You don't have to choose the place if you want to sit with your computer. I came on a Tuesday morning. There were only 3 other customers - and it's a cafe with space for 30-40 people. When I had ordered, I saw a small sign that said: Computers only at the bar. I asked nicely if I could sit on a chair with a backrest - now that there were almost no other customers and I only saw the sign after ordering. Unfortunately, I wasn't allowed to. It's great to stick to principles. Just a boring place to sit - and spend 46 kroner on a cappuccino.

19/12/2025: Sushi tastes very bad, especially Salmon. The rice tasted terrible. I felt nauseous just after eating a piece of sushi. I do not recommend it to anyone at all.

06/11/2025: The city's, if not Denmark's, absolute best baker, the sweetest employees, always with a smile on their face, try their luxury chocolate buns, salty sourdough bread, it's just a taste experience at the highest level.

05/11/2025: Lovely bakery, with somewhat mysterious opening hours. From 5 am to 4:30 pm (check for yourself!) and closed on weekends. Try their green pistachio stick.. Yummy crunchy and delicious. The baker himself is in the shop early, and is a bit short-tempered, but later the service is very pleasant and chatty. I love that I can pick up bread for the round-the-clock order just before I catch the train early.

03/09/2025: Sherlock Holmes is a really cozy and atmospheric pub. If you come outside rush hour, there is plenty of space. The bar is good and has a good and wide selection of beers. Not quite up to snuff with the best specialty beers, but very good. The service is good and they can give recommendations for their beers. I don't think they have food. There is often sports on screens and a big screen, so if you are into that, there is a good atmosphere in the place. The style of the furniture is nice English style. But ok - some of the chairs have really seen better days and should definitely be replaced (!). Sherlock Holmes is a cozy, centrally located place and absolutely ideal if you want to meet colleagues for a Friday beer, or if you want to start somewhere before a larger city tour. Can definitely be recommended 👍

10/01/2026: Really good food, waiting time was short, it wasn't that busy. Delicious and crispy Chicken California burger and onion rings as a side order. Their onion rings are delicious and crispy. Not just a flabby ring. It's always clean and tidy, and the staff is very service-minded. It's just a shame that you have to drive from Roskilde to Holbæk. We need a Carl' Jr. in Roskilde.

06/12/2025: Then I have to change it when the system can't stand what I say. If you could give something stars, I would. I think I was very disappointed when I got there. I don't think their fries tasted good. The burger was very boring and soft. The steak tasted very good, but it doesn't help anything under the burger bun and something soft like that. It was almost water. I didn't think there was any credit bar that was worse than McDonald's, but there is. It's a shame there isn't a Burger King in town, so I would have used that instead. I also bought a Milchecks. It also tasted like something was wrong. It tasted synthetic or whatever. That's what they had done to it. It certainly didn't taste like it was supposed to taste. And unfortunately I had driven too far away before I could drive it back and say there must be something wrong. With that so I could get my money back. And like I said, like someone said earlier, they might as well not have a drive-in because there was no proper service there. It didn't take any faster. I kept you for at least 10 minutes. That's too long. And I think I actually kept you for 15 minutes.

04/03/2026: This is probably the best value for money offer in Copenhagen 🫰 The hotel is far from the city center, but there is a metro station nearby, which compensates for this distance 🚇 Quite a cozy location, but sometimes crowded, long-lasting and noisy corporate meetings are held on the territory of the complex 🥂
