08/08/2025: We loved our visit here, especially the service. The waitress was very kind and was always ready to help. The food servings were also very generous, and the greens were really fresh. I recommend this cafe for those waiting for their ferry as it is just close to the port.

18/12/2025: From the best to the worst! I have eaten wiener schnitzel twice at "Hanen" the first time, superbly good, the second time inedible, chewy and inedible d. 18-12-25 Despite the good service, the food was a bit of a pain. And I am surprised to see other guests getting sauces on the side! Mine was slush in slush. Not recommended.

28/11/2025: A good Thursday evening. menu. "starburst". perfectly prepared. not dry, not overcooked, simple but good. consumed in cozy surroundings, mixed with good Danish bodega culture. In the literal sense of the word. a shooting star every visit. Regards. Max Seierø

01/12/2025: There's a reason it started out as "Temlig Hemlig Syd-Øst For Paradis". A real gem on Bornholm. I love going there because everything works! The food is a good mix of everything good. The bread for the food/tapas etc. is sourdough bread from Svaneke Brød. The dish of the day in the evening is vegetarian and is made with ingredients from a farm on Bornholm. Such a cozy and happy atmosphere. You might as well be somewhere "down south". ⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️

14/12/2025: Internet and TV didn’t work, and workers downstairs worked with hammers and drills until 6pm - and again from 8am. Not a very relaxing stay. Would not recommend. Nice views don’t make up for the rest.

06/10/2025: Misleading marketing of your food – and hey, that’s not okay! At least be honest about the food you actually serve, so people don’t turn up their noses at something completely different. And when people wonder about it on the spot and mention it to you, you – God help me – get offended by it. Maybe you should just be honest about what you’re selling instead of cheating with it. I order what I think is a super delicious potato dish for 75 or 85 kr (it doesn’t really matter). The potato dish is beautifully displayed in a nice glass case – freshly made, I assume, since it looks so nice and inviting. Of course, I think that’s the kind of one I’m going to have. But no – it’s just for display, I’m told. The display food has fresh cucumber, chives, red onion, large crispy lettuce (no tomatoes) and plenty of potatoes, so it looks big and filling – exactly as a potato dish should be. 50 seconds pass, and then you come out with the smallest and saddest potato dish I have ever seen. It doesn’t look at all like the one you are displaying. I go into shock and end up paying anyway – but you could clearly see that you knew very well that it was nothing to be proud of. When I sit down, I ask the people I am with to go up and see the display food. They laugh and say: “Oh, they can’t mean that – it’s not even close to the one you got!” No red onion. No chives. No cucumber. A tired salad, almost no potatoes – and two sad tomato slices on top. If that food had cost 35 kr., I might have just eaten it without saying anything. But when you put a sumptuous, fresh potato dish on display and then serve something completely different, that is misleading marketing – and that is not okay. You could have taken it with a smile and said: “Yes, we know it doesn’t look exactly like the food on display – we need to change that.” There is no shame in making simple food. But don’t make guests think they are getting something that you are not delivering at all. I hope that one day I can come back and actually get a potato dish that looks like the one you so want to appear to be serving. I did get my money back – but not without an angry look and a clear insult. Excuse me for wanting what I thought I paid for. I deeply regret that. I am attaching pictures. In the first picture is the food I got. And in the other two the food in the cupboard is a little hard to see because there is food film around it. But you can clearly see all the things that are on the food.

06/09/2025: Very informative exhibition & a nice Café with a great view of the castle ruin

13/09/2025: Beautiful campsite behind the dunes. Now, in mid-September, there's hardly anything going on; the site is getting emptier and emptier. Nice terrain, even for tents. The restrooms are good. Fresh rolls and sweets are available in the morning at normal prices.

21/09/2025: Even though we parked relatively close to the road with our RV, it was very quiet from Saturday to Sunday. The site is well-equipped, with a 24/7 reception (automat), open year-round. A smokehouse (fish buffet) and town are within walking distance. Friendly staff.

16/08/2025: Got a table on the terrace and a super nice waiter! Ate tartar, guinea fowl and fish of the day. Plus for the delicious bread that we got refills. Large selection of white and red Burgundies! Thanks Nadja(?) for the super service! A bit small menu, otherwise we would have definitely come back during our stay..

11/09/2025: Absolutely amazing and delicious ice cream, here people are picky about the products! Went here with the whole family, where we got many different taste experiences with the large selection of both ice cream, custard and crumble. Far better than most standard waffle ice cream! We will remember this place for the next time we go to Bornholm

15/08/2025: I don't understand the other good reviews. The soft serve was too sweet, and the other ice cream flavors were rather disappointing (we had five flavors). Everyone has different tastes, I suppose.

30/03/2026: 1 star – really bad experience We visited Sydhavnens grill tonight, and unfortunately it was a really bad experience. When we arrived, there were three young employees working. It seemed a bit disorganized, and some guests had already been waiting for a long time, but the atmosphere was actually nice. We ordered two burgers, a large french fries and half a grilled chicken with fries, dip and cucumber salad. The fries and burgers came quickly, but then it all stopped. In the middle of it all, the manager comes in, and the atmosphere changes completely. She is clearly angry and we can hear her scolding the young employees for the mess, lack of cleaning and that they “have been slurping sauce all day”. This takes place openly in the restaurant, while she is also taking orders. It becomes so uncomfortable that no one says anything. We were several guests sitting and looking at each other. My grilled chicken still hadn’t arrived, but I honestly didn’t dare say anything because the atmosphere was so bad. Only when the others had almost finished eating did I ask for it. The young employee then took a dry and lukewarm chicken from the oven and put it on the table – without any accompaniments. The fries were then poured from a portion that I had just heard the manager say had been sitting out for far too long. It was missing salt, remoulade and cucumber salad, which I also had to ask for and when it came, it was a small blob. At that point I couldn’t take it anymore and didn’t say anything more. On the way out we experienced another episode: A mother with two boys came in about 35 minutes before closing time and said that they would like to eat there. She was met with the same sour tone, with the manager sharply pointing out that they should be made aware of the closing time, and at the same time saying that she couldn’t say when the food would be ready because the grill was full. It was clear that they didn’t feel welcome. We don’t know the history, and it may well be that the young people had had a bad day. If you are unhappy with your employees, you have to take the consequences and find others. But as a manager, you don't scold your employees in front of customers and create such a bad atmosphere that guests don't dare say anything. The food was below average, but the worst part was the experience.
