15/01/2026: Review of Byens Grill Kylling This place is a perfect example of how simplicity, quality, and care beat everything else. Despite the name being older than the current menu, Byens Grill Kylling serves freshly grilled shawarma and kebab made with excellent ingredients sourced locally, including fresh produce from the nearby QB market. You can taste the difference immediately—everything feels fresh, well-prepared, and made with pride. The menu is intentionally small, with around 10 dishes, and that focus really shows. Every order hits the spot. No unnecessary overload, no shortcuts—just good food done properly. The owner deserves special mention. He is genuinely kind, welcoming, and communicates clearly. You feel seen as a customer, not rushed or ignored. He makes sure you’re properly fed and happy with your order, which is sadly becoming rare these days. And the portion sizes? Absolutely ridiculous—in the best way possible. You will not leave hungry. In fact, you’ll probably struggle to finish it, but you’ll enjoy every bite. The place itself is small and modest, but that only adds to the charm. It feels authentic, clean, and honest—focused on what actually matters: great food and good people. If you’re looking for high-quality shawarma or kebab, made fresh with care, this is easily one of the best spots in town. A local gem that deserves support and repeat visits. Highly recommended.

12/11/2025: We visited this restaurant yesterday. The ambiance is lovely, but the service and food didn't quite live up to it. What really displeased us, however, was that we paid 49 crowns (6.50) each for a regular cup of coffee and a small cup of tea bag. This price is simply outrageous. The price and quality are completely out of sync. For this reason, we won't be returning to this otherwise cozy establishment.

28/09/2025: We came for dinner. The restaurant is beautifully located by the water and the view from the restaurant is fantastic. We ordered the taste of North Jutland and the children got homemade chicken fingers and an ice cream bar with ice cream from Vebbestrup. The food is delicious and there are some good flavor combinations that you get served. Remember to reserve a table, there were many guests in the heated conservatory. The ferry to the island sails entirely and half from Aalborg.

06/11/2025: Very disappointing experience. My friend and I had ordered a “Too Good To Go” bag, which clearly stated that pick-up was at 9:25 PM. We arrived well in advance, around 9:15 PM, and waited until the agreed time. When it was 9:25 PM, we were told by the staff that we had to wait until everyone who had ordered had arrived. It wasn’t until around 9:35 PM that the door opened – and at that point all the food was almost immediately snatched away. In my opinion, if you arrive later than the agreed time, you unfortunately have to face the consequences. We arrived on time and shouldn’t be disadvantaged for that.

01/12/2025: I have eaten at Jin Shing many times where the food is always of fresh quality, but here on Sunday 30.11 where I got spring rolls with rice and curry I was disappointed. The "skin" on the spring roll was not crispy at all as it usually is. The spring roll tasted like it had just been in the microwave for a few minutes and the skin was tough 😞

02/02/2026: In Aalborg city center you will find one of the absolute best restaurants in the city. Restaurant Nam serves Asian inspired food combined with Nordic food. We had an 8 course menu and it tasted heavenly. If you love good atmosphere, friendly service and Asian food this is the place you should visit.

28/10/2025: Super cool atmosphere. The staff was delightful and the pizzas were incredibly delicious, although potatoes don't really belong on a pizza – well, that's a matter of taste. An absolute highlight after a walk on the beach or a surf session in Vorupør.

A few years ago, we had the joy of surfing with them at their previous location, so on this visit we were delighted to find them in a new spot right on the main road—complete with a fresh vibe, more seating, and a welcoming café atmosphere. Although we didn’t surf this time around, we happily made the most of their drink specials and were pleasantly surprised by their ice cream, sandwiches, and an array of unique gifts and local merchandise. The energy here is effortlessly laid-back—locals and visitors mingling, swapping surf stories, and enjoying the day together. The staff greet you with the warmth of old friends, and the cozy pallet couches practically invite you to linger, watching the world go by with the salty ocean breeze drifting in. The menu truly has something for everyone—breakfast, lunch, pizza, coffee, smoothies, and cocktails—all in one place. What lured us in that day were their draft beer specials, the perfect refreshment for a warm late-summer afternoon. Viking Surf House is more than just a surf shop or café; it’s a gathering place, a little slice of Klitmøller’s soul. Until next time—perhaps I’ll even be brave enough to catch a wave again!
