22/12/2025: Cozy atmosphere, but wait time and mixed food Visited Hansens Café in Hornbæk for a classic lunch. Here is my honest experience: The good: * The atmosphere: It is incredibly cozy with the open fireplace, which really creates an authentic and warm atmosphere - perfect for a cold day. * The staff: The service was really sweet, smiling and very friendly. You feel welcome from the start. The less good: * The wait: Unfortunately, it took quite a long time for the food to land on the table. You shouldn't be too hungry when you sit down. * The food: It was very traditional, which is fine, but the quality itself was a mixed pleasure. Some elements played, while others felt a bit mediocre. Conclusion: A nice place if you prioritize coziness and good service, but the kitchen lacks that last bit to reach the top. Come here for the fireplace and the good vibe, but bring your patience from home.

16/12/2025: Ate fried pork with parsley sauce (persillesmovs) The fried pork was completely crunchy dry but the rest was delicious. Can't recommend.

06/06/2025: I found this place on the Coffee Trip app. It was super convenient being near our hotel. Even better was the wonderful staff and atmosphere of the cafe. The coffee was delightful, we had the flat white and a plan black coffee. The pastries are delicious!! Try the almond croissant and the cinnamon roll.

05/09/2025: Very nice pizza and kebab. Service minded staff. Perhaps not the place to sit and eat but for takeaway it's perfect!

01/09/2025: The fries were completely oily. The burger's steak didn't taste like anything (homemade). The pizza base was thin and flabby. The filling fell off easily (not because there was much of it already) mostly cheese. Ate until closing time when the staff was mopping the floor. He put the dirty gold bucket right next to the table and used the toilets first and then the restaurant, not so nice.

25/11/2025: Cold everywhere, cold in the shower, in the water. The children thought it was too cold and didn't want to swim as we thought. I was so disappointed in the hotel that there was no kettle, no coffee like all other hotels usually have, there was no refrigerator. What would a mother with a small child who needed hot water do? You had to buy coffee and hot water from the reception. Would never go there again

09/11/2025: Cozy and can be recommended, the only downside is a lifeguard who makes it sound like it's because you're from Copenhagen that you say it's really slippery if you want to go from one pool to the deeper one, which he just said, he couldn't understand when he had done it lots of times, but I kept slipping there and he just forgets one thing and that is the customer is always right, so you shouldn't tell people off and don't argue back, but otherwise a great water park and would definitely recommend the hotel to others.

08/11/2025: Lovely relaxed atmosphere with fabulous food. We had a three course meal and enjoyed every bite. Afterwards we enjoyed a lovely live jazz concert on site.

08/11/2025: Went for brunch today. Been coming here for many years and have always thought it was a super delicious brunch. Unfortunately the place has become too big sat at the buffet where people were constantly passing customers. Cleans up and fulfills. Half of the staff did not understand either Danish or English. There were not enough jugs for all tables with coffee and juice. Before, everything was just more delicious with good interesting cold cuts instead of cut plain. From plastic. The staff was friendly and smiling and they filled up ok. I would like to highlight their delicious bread and pizzas. At the price they charge, I thought it was a big step back from what it was before. They no longer stand out from other places like I thought they did before. I don't want to drive far for it anymore. Unfortunately

22/02/2026: I have visited Café Alex several times, and my experiences have generally been acceptable. While it may not be a five-star café, it is also far from the worst compared to many cafés in Denmark. During my most recent visit, however, I was quite disappointed. I ordered the nachos for 149 kr., and unfortunately they were the most underwhelming nachos I have been served. The portion consisted mostly of dry chips, with only a small number that actually had cheese on them — and that cheese was already hardened and overcooked. After eating a few chips, I politely asked if a bit more cheese could be added to the bowl. The dish was returned with only a light sprinkle of partially melted cheese at the bottom and even more dried, crusted cheese on top, which did not really improve the dish. I understand that standards and expectations can vary, but for the price charged, the quality and value did not meet what I would consider reasonable. Overall, based on cost versus value during this visit, I would rate the experience 1 star. After the waitress asked if I was finished, as the bowl was still full, I explained that it really wasn’t ok to eat and she explained she would tell the chef. That’s as far as it went. They charged me full price and no apologies as to how bad the food was.

20/08/2025: Got cinnamon rolls and raspberry slices from here. The cinnamon rolls tasted quite nice and had a good consistency. However, they were a bit small. The raspberry slices were on a dark bread that tasted too much of bread and too little of cake, and then with sugar underneath… The diametrical relationship between the two things was a bit nauseating. The icing and raspberries were okay. On top was the multi-colored sprinkles that used to characterize raspberry slices from gas stations; not a tasteful choice. The price was average.

02/11/2025: Really nice and exciting place where we went to the first Christmas market of the year here in early November. However, there was some Christmas spirit missing in the form of, for example, food to buy and food to buy besides a regular sausage

29/10/2025: Not sure if “corn pancake” should be the description of this dish, as it resembled more a corn omelette than anything else. But linguistics aside, this majspandekage filled with chicken was superb, so savoury, and also fulfilling. The smoothie full of green “goodies” was a nice pair to the already healthy meal. An honourable mention to the friendly waitress, she was super super friendly 😊
