05/06/2025: The Pearl of the Coast – a lunchtime story by the water’s edge It was one of those days off when time seems to stand still. I had a coffee appointment at two o’clock, but no other obligations – just an open morning and the desire to let my curiosity guide me. From Helgoland I strolled along the Strandpromenade, where the waves whisper stories and the sun plays on the water. And there, in the shadow of history and close to the coast, I found the pearl. The brewery in Kastrup – originally part of Fortling’s industrial empire from the 18th century – still stands with its beautiful calm and its crystal-clear view of the strait. In the middle of the old complex, where the rustle of time can still be felt in the walls, lies The Pearl of the Coast. The name couldn’t be more appropriate – because what else could a hidden little treasure by the sea be called? I went inside, even though I didn’t actually have an appointment here until later. But that’s exactly what the place can do: lure you in, informal, friendly, curious. There are no white tablecloths or stiff napkins here, but an atmosphere that balances gracefully between the lightness of a café and the thoughtfulness of a restaurant. It is rare to find places that so elegantly understand how to be both. The lunch was simple and well-prepared – like all the best things in life. Precise, tasty and at prices where you still feel like a guest and not a customer. The service was smiling, present, without being intrusive. You can sense that many of the regulars came by chance the first time – and since then have just not been able to help but return. Kystens Perle is not just a meal, but an atmosphere. A small break in time, where history, sea and heart merge into a higher unity. And I am already looking forward to returning.

19/06/2025: Very tasty pizza. A little secret tip for me. The salad we ordered with it was also fresh and delicious. I can highly recommend it. Simply top-notch value for money.

04/05/2025: Vi havde endnu en skøn aften på jeres restaurant. På trods af travlhed og fuldt hus, formået jeres søde tjenere at være nærværende og opmærksomme på, om vi manglet noget. Både maden, vinene og jeres cocktails var lækkert. Vi kommer helt klart igen

25/07/2025: The wife and I ate there today, the wife chose the shooting star and I chose the breaded plaice with white carnations and a delicious parsley dressing......the food tastes wonderful and was really beautifully presented.... The place and the service really get top marks from us, sweet and friendly and a very cozy place..... It's not the last time we come, and we would like to recommend it to family and friends.... Thank you for the food and see you again....

24/07/2025: Very cozy place, which we have visited before with great satisfaction. Where the food served tasted homemade. On our last visit we had breaded plaice, herring, eggs and bread. It no longer tasted homemade. The rye bread was also very boring. Dear Lolles gaard, you will have to consider getting the standard back again. Lolles gaard is such a unique place, you have the best opportunities to attract old and not least new customers. The staff are sweet, smiling girls. The courtyard and the restaurant are unique. The menu is of such a variety that you can easily give it a go with food made from scratch. 🙏 Despite the quality, we had a really lovely day. ♥️

08/07/2025: Amazing flavours, we had Momos, fermented pickles, chow-mein and fried rice, and we even ended up ordering dessert. The ambiance is great, the restaurant is well lit and the music is nice. The owners took the time to explain the menu and recommend us plates and combinations, they were really welcoming and nice people to chat with. 10/10

20/03/2025: One of the best pizza in my life. The pizza was very delicious and the atmosphere was warm. He was so helpfull to us, he told us what we can do in Copenhagen. You definitely need to visit this place to eat pizza. Their pizza was incredibly delicious, one of the best pizzas we've ever eaten. He also helped us incredibly when he realized we were Turkish. You should definitely go here

28/06/2025: Psychbar! Absinthe & craft beer bar. Good music on vinyl and a friendly and pleasant atmosphere. Well worth a visit when in Copenhagen.

13/04/2025: For New Year's Eve, me and my wife came as the last of our group of 8. As a result, we sat at corners of the table. The table was NOT DESIGNED for 8 people. Parallel to us there were several tables of the same size and there were 6 people sitting at each table. The same was the case in the level below us. Wallman's New Year's Eve is not cheap. We don't mind paying a high price, but then we also want the best value for money. It was very difficult to eat for me and my wife. I have complained to Wallmans and the director has replied: 1. it was 8 person tables (my comment: why were there only 6 people sitting at several tables of the same size ? They should get a table that was smaller) 2. People are different sizes, so someone may have a problem (my comment: in our party, everyone was ordinary, not giant) 3. Due to the size, people can have problems in the cinema or on a plane (my comment: none of us ever had problems in the cinema or on a plane. We were also not put 4 people on 3 seats in a plane, like at Wallmans) 4. Everything is legal and approved by the fire service. (My comment: it's probably legal BUT NOT REASONABLE. The fire department probably approves total number of guests but they don't care how many are sitting at a table). 5. He says I complained too late, in March. (My comment: I did this due to illness, but I spoke to him shortly after the complaint where he said the same thing and I asked if he would do anything if I complained in January. The answer was that he would not.) In his reply he makes ridiculous claims as I have described above, but when I send him a picture in email no. 2 where you can see I was sitting at the corner of the table (and I am of normal size) and ask him: Is it reasonable to sit like this for dinner at a restaurant? Would you sit like that in a restaurant? What has the director replied? HE HAS NOT ANSWERED THOSE QUESTIONS AT ALL BECAUSE IT IS CLEARLY UNREASONABLE. HE HIMSELF WOULDN'T ACCEPT IT EITHER. Instead, he started again with planes, cinemas and the fire service. I have written to him that there are 3 companies of guests who have complained about exactly the same thing on Trustpilot (2 complaints from the same New Year's Eve). He replies that 4 complaints out of 80,000 guests means nothing. IS IT GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE TO TREAT GUESTS WHO HAVE PAID A LOT OF MONEY THAT WAY? HAVE ALL THE OTHER GUESTS WHO HAVE ALSO COMPLAINED BEEN AS GREAT AS HE CLAIMED WE WERE?

21/06/2025: Great food and view, good acoustics, service and wine. The wine menu is high priced, but otherwise 10/10.

19/06/2025: Hair in the food. We visited the restaurant on Saturday 15 February. When I was served the main course, I noticed a hair in my food and brought it to the chef's attention. Unfortunately, he chose to simply remove it with his fingers directly into my plate without offering a new portion or an apology, which I found very unhygienic and unprofessional. It would have been a nice gesture to offer some extra bread on the side as the portions are very small. But then again, it's really disgusting to have hair in the food, and the chef removes it in front of me with his fingers into my plate. All in all a disappointing experience which did not live up to the standard one would expect from a restaurant of this calibre.
