11/08/2025: NOT KID FRIENDLY. Before being seated, the hostess said we don't have a kid's menu and we could tell she didn't want to seat us (older woman with a scowl). After sitting, our infant cried but was situated after drinking a bottle. The hostess returned and said that our children were tired and we should eat elsewhere. Nasty personality. Menu choices were also limited. So we left. We went to an Italian restaurant a block away. Much better food choices and service was great (and kid friendly). I guess our kids were not too tired for good food. Bad decision to go to Fridas in hindsight. We wanted good Danish. Our friends in Copenhagen wished we had asked them for restaurant choices as they have told us to avoid this inauthentic tourist trap.

30/07/2025: Stopped for a beer on the way back to the hotel. Nice staff. Via was sitting outside and it started raining heavily so we had to move inside. There were more people than I thought inside...

24/07/2025: There is a very cozy cafe in the middle of the city. I liked the matcha cookie so much! Additionally, their interior design made me feel very comfortable.

24/07/2025: The first coffee shop that we visited during our stay in Copenhagen. Staff was friendly and Hans is mentioned in several coffee trip guides so we expected something extra but we got just under average flat white with no extra latte art and taste. :-/ We had much better later on during our stay.

06/08/2025: Delicious breakfast plate, which includes the Sonny juice, and yoghurt bowl. Great coffee, too!

04/08/2025: The staff was very friendly and attentive. I can't recommend the Sonny Salad for the price, even though it's probably the usual price in Copenhagen. It consists of 85% lettuce (cold kale) with a few tomatoes, 2-3 small potatoes, and half a piece of bread, which was delicious. It tasted too much like dill; I didn't think the whole combination was particularly successful, but maybe someone else would like it :-)

08/08/2025: New York style, but with a distinctly Danish flavor. For a former NYer, it (mostly) hits the spot. The atmosphere is very chill and relaxed. When we went, the frozen drinks that we ordered were not quite fully frozen yet, so they gave us one for free.

22/07/2025: A real bakery – like in the good old days In a time when almost all bakeries are trying to reinvent themselves with sourdough, experimental coffee types and home-invented concepts, there are still oases of genuine, old-fashioned charm. On Amager – in the middle of vibrant Greater Copenhagen – there is a small bakery that refuses to follow the fashionable trends of the time. And thank God for that. Here, everything is reminiscent of the time when you were sent off on a bicycle with a coin in your pocket and a message from your mother: “Get a loaf of pastry – and remember, the one with the thick icing!” The window is still freshly painted, the cake recipes seem to have been inherited from a time when butter was butter, and you didn’t put three kinds of kernels in all bread. After all, it’s not canaries who are going to eat it – it’s us humans. There’s something touching and safe about a place like this. Here you can smell vanilla, freshly baked French bread and a time that is otherwise disappearing. The staff is nice, the atmosphere is informal, and they still sell raspberry shortbread that tastes like they did before someone started calling it “retro”. You might feel a little warm at heart. Because it’s not just a bakery – it’s a little piece of Denmark that still holds the flag high. I don’t think there are many of this kind left. But here is one of them. And it’s worth supporting

08/06/2025: Very delicious bread and rolls, a wide selection. Super friendly staff. For cake lovers, there are many different treats, including fantastic cinnamon rolls and heavenly strawberry cake.

09/06/2025: I've been here several times now and it's just one of the coziest cafes in the area! The food is so delicious and the staff is always super nice. The prices are also really reasonable, considering it's Copenhagen.

07/05/2025: Cozy cafe, and lovely green garden on a sunny day. Nice place for an ordinary draft beer. Quirky operation. Toilets inside the restaurant.

31/07/2025: The hotel is located in a great spot, right in the dunes. I assume that is what they charge you for. The rooms were not worth the money we paid for the stay: quite small, sand in the beds, and the bathroom had the appearance from the 1980s. The breakfast was great, though.

23/06/2025: Fantastically located hotel near the beach. Denmark on the North Sea is so beautiful.

23/02/2025: Delicious bacon steak sandwich with really good fries. It was a good experience. For the fries there was a delicious onion ketchup.

15/07/2025: Experience on a rainy trip: The host saw us two motorcyclists sheltering in the pavilion on his property in the rain. He then gave us two drinks for free and wished us better weather and a safe journey.

Sød og imødekommende betjening – personalet gjorde deres bedste. Minus: Sindsygt dårlig Sunday kedelig ment Meget begrænset udvalg – ingen reel valgfrihed. Konceptet føltes stift og ufleksibelt – man kunne hverken bestille ekstra retter eller blot lidt brød. Priserne matcher ikke oplevelsen. Ift prisen Smag og retter ramte slet ikke min gane – desværre ingen madoplevelse, jeg vil vende tilbage for. Drikkepenge Når man får betalings automatens stukket i snuden kunne man tvungent vælge 3 satser Der er ikke ok Jeg fravælger konsekvent tvungent at skulle give drikkepenge Konklusion: God service, men resten skuffede. Hvis man søger en kulinarisk oplevelse med valgmuligheder og value for money, er Elmely Kro ikke stedet.

08/08/2025: I came from Germany, but I didn’t eat manakish and falafel like this, and the hummus is delicious. It’s amazing.
