22/05/2026: Absolutely delightful and charming restaurant with delicious food as an American. I had no idea what to expect but ended up with a great smorgasbord sandwich. The fish was fresh fried and delightful way. Everything pickled was extraordinary if you’re in town definitely worth the trip.

16/05/2026: We wanted local food, and we got it. As soon as you step into this restaurant, you're immersed in a very typical local atmosphere. Clearly, there were quite a few Danes. They even mistook us for Danes, speaking to us in the language. We were given Danish menus. We had to insist on being spoken to in English. It was an unusual experience, as we had to translate the menus using Google Translate. We ended up ordering the "surprise" open-faced sandwiches and weren't disappointed. A nice glass of Californian red wine to go with it. Very pleasant.

16/12/2025: It was a super cozy place with the finest small pieces of open sandwiches. The waiters and the atmosphere in the place were top notch.

15/12/2025: It's a real shame that you keep changing your concept. It's worked for over 200 years, why change it? We are a huge family that has been coming year after year after year, but now the value for money is getting lower and lower. The place has become stingy and prioritizes profit over concept. First, the price has been raised all the way up to 400kr, then rice ala mande and cheese etc. have been removed, which you have to pay extra for. But how lucky is it that so many vegetarian dishes have been added instead. Not. What's next? Roast pork with parsnips?

06/12/2025: Came here for a dinner with two others. We were excited to try a wine, they were out. The waiter suggested a wine over double the price, which speaks of inexperience or worse. The beetroot dish is fantastic! Followed by the potato and then the leek. The pollock wasn’t balanced well and neither was the pork. The service throughout was not memorable. Overall, would I recommend this place to my friends to visit? No. There are better restaurants.

21/04/2026: Food was excellent. Really very good. Staff was very friendly although service took a bit long. Could be because it was very busy. All in all a very good experience.

06/04/2026: Here they have really gone to great lengths to create a cozy atmosphere. Nice that the furniture has a high back so you can talk in peace. Good food, cold beer was quickly served at the table. They have many special schnapps that you can taste. Staff: Sweet and friendly.

04/01/2026: Thankful to have got a table the server fitted us in and sorted a seat indoors as the snow really hit! Lovely wine options and the food was really enjoyable. The caviar was not as good as we can get at home. Never the less would recommend and return

02/01/2026: Good place to eat, like all restaurants in Copenhagen the prices are very high, the quality is average but acceptable. We had fish and chips, pasta, etc. The place is very cozy.

12/12/2025: The place is anonymous from the outside, but when you step inside it is super cozy, and almost like eating in a wine shop in the good and cozy way. The food is excellent, no fancy food here, it is rustic and tasty like mama would make it. The menu changes from day to day, so there is no excuse not to come back again and again. The waiters are Italian and we had an excellent chemistry with them, and we ended up sitting and enjoying ourselves for 4 hours, also because when you order their wine menu, they leave the bottles on the table, so you can take more yourself, without extra charge.. and since we have previously worked in the restaurant industry and love to talk wine, they brought new/extra bottles for us to taste, again without extra charge. This is one of Copenhagen's best Italian restaurants and you get extremely high quality, taste and coziness for the money. See you again!

23/08/2025: Le Pave es excelente. Hemos cenado aquí a menudo a lo largo de los años. La comida siempre es excelente. Prueba los mejillones. Buen vino, también. Comer puede ser por dentro o por fuera. La cena afuera se encuentra en la histórica y pintoresca Plaza Greyfriars. No solo hemos tenido muchas cenas aquí, también es agradable parar a tomar un aperitivo por la tarde y beber para refrescarse después de un día de gira. Los propietarios de marido y mujer son increíblemente amable y hospitalario. ¡Incluso puedes saludar a Apollo, su lindo perrito!

16/08/2025: Fantastically good food and service! We had the 3-course set menu consisting of tuna carpaccio, beef fillet and for dessert pavlova. All dishes with very nice side dishes. Highly recommended!

19/10/2025: Great place for breakfast. Much better value and quality than most other places in the city centre. It seems mostly frequented by locals, which in itself is a good sign.

19/04/2026: Food was generally too salty and variety in the tasting 5 course menu was monotonous. Wine selection by glass was short. Even with one wine on the list but waiter said they need to open it so it is not by the glass.

15/04/2026: This restaurant offers fish dishes that even Japanese people, who are accustomed to fish cuisine, should definitely try. The Hokkaido pumpkin, served with a foamy ponzu sauce, offers a delightful transition from sourness to sweetness, and finally to the savory aroma of rice crunch. The bottle of wine we ordered was also delicious. The service was efficient yet attentive, and all the other customers seemed to be food-loving adults. The atmosphere was pleasantly relaxed, not too quiet, which was nice.

06/10/2025: We had a lemon cake with vanilla cream and olive oil. It was SPECTACULAR. Perfectly moist and perfectly sweet. Our coffee was delicious also. We will be back to try the cinnamon bun.

21/11/2025: Amazing place! Small and cozy, two delicious puff pastry BMOs, one cinnamon and one cardamom. The cappuccino and filter coffee were truly excellent. All for 120 kuna. We'll definitely be back!
