01/07/2025: Virkelig lækker mad på lille autentisk restaurant. Vi fik en pizza og en entrecote og begge dele var virkeligt godt.

21/06/2025: Super delicious with good service despite us coming on a normally quiet evening when it suddenly got extremely busy, but this was not noticeable in the fantastic service. Our creme brûlées were not quite correct, which is why we were offered that our drinks were free so all in all a good experience.

13/07/2025: It is truly recommended. The food is delicious and beautifully presented. The waiter has the perfect balance between professionalism and personality. We were very satisfied and quite full when we left our table.
13/07/2025: The place is a cozy French restaurant, where we enjoyed a 4-course menu with accompanying wine menu.
All the dishes were incredibly tasty and beautifully balanced. The pig was roasted to perfection — tender, juicy and full of flavor. The dessert consisted of delicious, juicy berries and a creamy vanilla ice cream, which was reminiscent of a modern interpretation of red porridge.
However, we missed the coffee should be better and a little sweet to round off the meal properly.

02/06/2025: 1st time I/ tried Sunshine, we ordered 7 slightly different ones, wow each one was amazing. Best sandwich in Horsens.
Will definitely come back.
04/03/2025: The owner knows nothing about Danish culture nor does he know anything about about how to provide service in Denmark. He has just arrived here from Iran/Iraq/somewhere Middle Eastern and is used to the customs over there. Food is also very mediocre. There are better options to eat at in Horsens.

03/08/2025: Went for granola breakfast, cool vibe and great ambience. There was a trainee on the till with a supervisor. I mentioned to them that our daughter had an allergy to pistachio nuts and produced a card explaining this in Danish and English. The supervisor asked the chef and also said she'd check if it had any pistachios nuts in with the owner. So there were four or five staff members involved in the conversation, including the chef. Yet when they brought the food out, it was visibly laced with pistachio nuts.
Sad to say, it is important that anyone with allergies must be wary here.

28/07/2025: Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to expectations, the drinks were way overpriced, the air was extremely stuffy, and the music was so loud you couldn't hear your neighbor. There was no special ambiance, which could make up for a fraction of the other things. Service was friendly.

27/12/2024: Stylishly decorated, a friendly and attentive waitress, and overall a delicious dinner!
We were there for the first time and had tenderloin steak. The steak was cooked to perfection. It was beautifully presented. The fries were delicious and crispy. Our absolute highlight was the mushroom sauce. It made you want to lick your plate 😍
18/12/2024: We celebrated our daughter's birthday for the family, and had the adjacent 'lounge/mini party room' to ourselves. It was decorated super nicely and we felt very welcome. The service was sublime and the food really good. Huge, huge recommendation from here! We will definitely be back :-)

04/08/2025: Her ble vi helt oversett. Vi måtte reise oss og gå bort til servitørene hver gang vi trengte kontakt med dem. De var mer opptatt av å snakke med hverandre. Maten var heller ikke noe å skryte av.
12/07/2025: Noget fortravlet med dog nærværende personale. Kan godt være bekymrede for om de kan opretholde servicen hvis alle borde udenfor er fyldte (vi besøgte dem en regnvejrsdag).

27/07/2025: Good selection on the menu at a reasonable price. A little larger than normal portion size, so a lot of food for the money. We ordered skewers and beef with pepper sauce, really good food and side dishes! Clean and nice inside the restaurant. Recommended!

14/07/2025: I’m devastated by the news that Høvlen is no-more, and that it got bought up by investors from Reffen street food.
This iconic place lasted 135 years. Thanks Iben for some real hygge. And of course not forget Buster 🐾. Hope to see Høvlen getting back to what it was, but for now, I’m scared it will turn into some juice-bar.
