02/07/2025: Nice place - the staff could use some training. Delicious chocolate, good ice cream, and fantastic coffee. This is usually the recipe for a good experience at a café located on one of the most attractive streets in Frederiksberg. However, the experience can be ruined by the service you will receive. A woman who spoke a little broken Danish (no problem with that), spoke quite indistinctly, and then got mad at me because I didn't understand her the first time. I finally managed to decipher what she was trying to say, and after that it went fine. Inside the ice cream section I ordered an ice cream for myself and one for my partner. I also wanted a coffee, which would be served to me if I just took a seat outside; which I did. Ordered a latte - got a cappuccino. Asked if it was a latte, and got a cold "yes" answer - spoiler: it definitely wasn't. Maybe they should get some training in service, and then this would be a nice place to be.

20/07/2025: Review of Den Gule Cottage – unfortunately an unpleasant experience I am writing this review with great regret after celebrating my mother’s 60th birthday at Den Gule Kortage. We were a small, quiet party of eight adults and three children, and we had been looking forward to celebrating a special day in cozy surroundings. Unfortunately, the experience was marked by an episode that left us both humiliated and disappointed. In the middle of the celebration, some confetti fell on the floor – the kind that is typically used for birthdays: either harmless plastic or delicate, pink paper confetti, which does not stain and cannot in any way damage a wooden floor. The reaction from our waiter, however, was completely out of proportion. We were immediately greeted with a very blunt and sharp message that we could be charged a fee of 4500 kr. unless we immediately swept it up ourselves. It was said in a tone that created great discomfort in the party and changed the atmosphere in the room significantly. My mother, who was celebrating her big birthday, was left feeling embarrassed and uneasy – which is the last thing you want on a day that should have been filled with joy and warmth. It didn’t feel like a friendly recommendation or professional communication – it felt like an unnecessary reprimand and a threat. There was no prior information about any special rules regarding confetti, and we were not met with any kind of understanding, just a sharp reaction and a direct threat. What should have been a festive and safe celebration was instead marked by discomfort and nervousness. I really hope that Den Gule Cottage will take note of this experience. It’s not about the confetti – it’s about the way you speak to your guests. Especially when it’s a personal and special event like a 60th birthday. We came in good faith and just wanted to celebrate an important day – but we left with a bad taste in our mouths.

25/06/2025: I liked that vibe and atmosphere. It was a cozy cafe with nice staff. I also liked my cake.

21/05/2025: Both food and coffee were very good. I am Italian and loved the cafe's take on the "Italian toast". Absolutely delicious. Their apple pie was also super nice. It's a great place to stop for refreshments and chill a bit before or after the Kronborg castle visit. Still, we visited on a Monday's afternoon, and could see the place was filled with locals rather than tourists: further proof of authenticity. Good prices too (considering local standards) and friendly staff. Definitely recommend if you are in Helsingor.

18/11/2024: I have to admit that we left the restaurant disappointed. The food: The menu says nothing about the dish, to say the least - I chose liver with plum, and was served 2 ultra-small tartlets with liver pâté and plum jam. From the menu, I chose the main course Ravioli with Sage and Cheese, and was served an excellent serving of 5-7 ravioli, where pumpkin was the dominant flavor. The waiter said that you should have 2 dishes to be full - I would say 4-5 dishes so as not to leave the table hungry. Fortunately, there was plenty of bread that tasted really good. Price: The cheapest red wine on the wine list cost 500kr, and the dishes were SMALL - you pay for both water and bread in addition to the food.

03/11/2024: Let it be said right away. Copenhagen's sourdough level is towering, and it is as such that I approach my review. After a long time, I finally had the opportunity to stop by and test their bread. We are at the bottom of the Copenhagen Top. Il buco's sourdough lacks acidity, sweetness in the crust, and springiness. And then the bread is too chewy, which gives an unsatisfactory bite. And then there is no crunch and crystals in the crust. Disappointing level. Get control of the parameters. Right now it's a flat farming experience and it's boring. A gray weather experience.

27/03/2025: I stopped by Buffalo to get a quick bite to eat – quite spontaneously. But I have to say I was pleasantly surprised! Their homemade sandwich was not only crispy and juicy, but it was also a cool experience to see it being made right in front of me. The service was top notch - while I was waiting, he started a nice conversation, which made the whole experience even better. It's not just good food, but also a really good atmosphere. Highly recommended!

23/11/2024: Let's start off by saying we are sharing our limited experience here. We did NOT go to a live concert, but are judging the bar based on its beer selection and chair comfort. Both score very high, honestly, for sure the heat capacity of the wood in the chairs. As an example, I got a seat from a guy who had a very warm ass, and it contained the heat nicely. Good for a Scandinavian winter evening after biking here. The beer selection is excellent too, with Great taste in beers. Why the 4 stars, you ask? Well the interior could be made cosier. It has the allures of a brown bar, yet the walls are too pale and the tables too clean. Overall, we would definitely come again for live music.

26/10/2024: It is an excellent bar, where on Mondays you can go listen to good jazz and participate in a Jam session.

12/07/2025: We chose this restaurant because Google recommended it as child-friendly, a place where children could have fun and draw. So we booked a table for six people: three adults and three children aged 5, 4 and almost 2 years old. Unfortunately, upon arrival we did not feel particularly welcome. We were not greeted with a smile, as we saw other guests do, but instead with sour looks from the staff. We asked if there was a possibility for the children to draw, which according to the waiter they could not. The children behaved well, sat in their seats and played quietly with some things at the table. Our youngest child turned a lamp on and off a few times, and after a few minutes a waiter removed the lamp without a word and with a clearly dissatisfied expression. Later we were told that the child was also not allowed to hold the license plate, because – according to the waiter – it could cost us 100 kr. if it broke. The sign was also taped together with several pieces of tape, as can be seen in the picture. After some time the children were finally allowed to draw, but throughout the entire visit we did not experience a single smile or welcoming gesture from the staff. The atmosphere felt uncomfortable, and when I asked why the waiter seemed so angry, it was dismissed, she herself thought she had only done her best. All in all it was a disappointing experience, especially because we had chosen the place based on the fact that it was supposed to be child-friendly. If you have small children, I would recommend finding another place where you as a family feel more welcome.
