03/08/2026: My son and I ordered a fish and chips takeaway. After 15 minutes I took the liberty of asking if they had forgotten us, as there were several people who had arrived later than us and had received their food. The person we ordered from had no memory of us and asked confusedly who we had ordered from. I said we didn't have time to wait any longer and asked for our money back. This resulted in a mysterious attempt to intimidate me. A threatening man now arrived from the kitchen, scowling and growling that it wasn't McDonald's (I don't know what he meant by that line). I continued to ask for a refund, I was told they couldn't refund to a card, to which I replied that cash would be fine. Some of the staff escorted the threatening chef into the kitchen and an employee conjured up cash from the till, so I got my money back. I will never set foot there again and will warn everyone I know about the place.

01/08/2026: Good fish fillets, a good glass of rose wine, smiling friendly service, we'll be back, I'll definitely try their shooting stars which look so big and delicious.

20/05/2026: I ordered a pizza no. 33 with kebab, chicken, salad, tomato and dressing. When I received the pizza, there was neither kebab nor chicken on it. The pizza only consisted of salad, dressing, cheese and tomato sauce. I subsequently called the store twice to explain the error. Both times the phone was picked up, but as soon as I mentioned the problem with the pizza, the phone was put away without an answer, and the phone was not even hung up properly. I am very dissatisfied with both the food and the way I have been treated.

05/08/2026: We visited this café based on its excellent reviews and were looking forward to coffee and ice cream. Unfortunately, our visit did not live up to our expectations. The service seemed rather disinterested and unfriendly. A friendly welcome or a smile would have made the experience much more pleasant. We were also disappointed with the taste. Despite being on a barista machine, the coffee tasted very sour. The ice cream was from Langnese and, in our opinion, too artificial and too sweet. The ambiance, however, is truly lovely and inviting. Therefore, we find it particularly disappointing that the service and the quality of the food and drinks did not live up to this positive impression.

27/07/2026: I am honestly speechless. I have a summer house in the area and come to Liseleje regularly. This time I went in to buy a coffee and brought my 10-year-old daughter. She had bought an ice cream somewhere else – Michael’s does not sell ice cream. I ordered a coffee and while we waited we sat on a bench outside (not at one of the café’s tables). Shortly after, an employee came out and told us that we were not allowed to sit there with “brought-in food”. The result was that they cancelled my coffee purchase and we left without coffee. I completely understand that a café does not want people to bring lunch or coffee from other places and take up their seats. But sending a paying customer away because a child has an ice cream in their hand that the café does not even sell itself shows a complete lack of situational awareness and sound business sense. I subsequently read other reviews describing the same very rigid approach – including a cyclist being asked not to drink water from his own water bottle while waiting for his coffee, and a review of having to pay for water for a dog. Unfortunately, this leaves the impression that this was not an isolated incident. As a holiday home owner in the area, I had expected to be a repeat customer, but of course I will not be. Losing a paying repeat customer because of a 10-year-old with an ice cream is, in my opinion, an exceptionally bad business decision. The coffee may be good, but customer service and sound business sense were non-existent today. Update after the company’s response: Offered to regret/cancel, isn’t that the same thing? What was the alternative, sending my daughter away while I was drinking coffee. And your employee is not telling you the whole story; I literally told the person, “It’s an ice cream, and you don’t serve ice cream?” - “Never mind, we serve other good things” was the response from your employee. I maintain that your decision was hasty and bad business sense :-)

09/07/2026: Update. The place is still as amazing as when I wrote a review 2 years ago. The food is still as delicious and inviting as it was then and it is always beautifully presented. You always feel welcome and I can't count how many times I have been there, and there will undoubtedly be many more times. ----------- I have been there several times, so yes, it is a cozy place with a view of Skovshoved harbor. Good service, the staff are nice and attentive. The food is delicious and the wait for the food has always been quite quick. There is both indoor and outdoor dining and it is on the ground floor. If it is a warm sunny day, it may be difficult to get a parking space, because it is a beautiful and lovely place.

31/08/2026: Cozy and lively, great little oasis to meet up in Nordvest. Edit: I am afraid I must change my review as the prices have simply become shockingly high. Went this Sunday and got a piece of bread the size of my hand with tomato sauce sold as “pizza” for 90 dkk. It just made me feel ill as a customer so I will not be coming back.

30/08/2026: Ridiculous prices, honestly. Two tiny slices of pizza with only tomato sauce—smaller than my hand (and my hands are not enormous)—cost 180 DKK, which is around €25. For the same price, you could probably buy 4 whole pizzas in Naples, and they would definitely taste better. It’s an open market, but I honestly think there should be some kind of regulation. This is clearly a rip-off. Don’t go there unless you enjoy feeling cheated.
