15/12/2025: We had to wait a long time for the food and go up to the counter and ask for it ourselves. And voila, it came. It seemed as if they hadn't thought about serving either. Before we left, I pointed out to a young 'waiter' that I had dropped my knife on the floor and that there was mashed potatoes that others could step on. The answer was: "Well, for Satan!" That's a VERY rude answer and not worthy of a waiter. My answer to him was that I didn't think we should involve Satan in it😉

02/05/2026: I'll start by saying that it's a beautiful place to be if you just want to sit and look, but that's also the only positive thing about the experience. After we found a table, we were given a tablet to order sushi. The only problem was that after we ordered, it took 2-3 hours for the food to even arrive. This is completely unacceptable. When you come straight from work or school, you expect fairly quick and proper service - not to sit and wait for hours. The first portion of sushi was okay and hot, but when we ordered the second one, it was a completely different story. The food arrived extremely late and was cold. It's just not right. We asked the staff why there was such a long wait. We were told that it was because of take-away, which I honestly don't believe, especially when there were clearly a lot of staff and chefs present. The wait continued, and we asked another staff member if any more food was coming because we were tired of waiting. She said there was no more – which we were actually almost relieved about after so long. But when we got up to leave, another employee suddenly came with more food and said it was ours too. It just shows how bad the communication is and that we were directly misinformed. All in all, a really bad experience with terrible service and unacceptable wait times. I won't be back.

25/03/2026: Okay sushi for the money, but don't expect much. If you choose to eat all you can eat, you should also expect to get sushi where there has been a lot of savings on the fish, on the roe and on the quantities of what is a little more expensive than rice and seaweed. But the rice itself is not very good. It is cheap quality rice that does not bind together well enough. It tastes fine, but not much more than that. However, it could do with some proper chopsticks, and not the cheap walking sticks they have. The service is well characterized by the fact that those who serve do not quite know what good service is, or how to provide it. And then they have the idea of ​​bringing large wooden boats with sushi in them. Here is a small bowl with some frozen nitrogen in it, to create an effect. However, there is not enough in it, so it just becomes tame and mushy.

13/04/2025: Nothing special. I ordered a cheeseburger last minute in this restaurant. Overpriced, for what you get. Fries taste cheap, the meat is also dry and they even give you a cheap version of Coca-Cola. There are better places for a good burger. I don't think I'll order again.

07/04/2025: I have had food from you MANY times and have always been satisfied. Is it possible that you have changed the fries recently, they have become very thin? I am sorry that there is no longer bearnaise as a choice for dipping, and why have I been given Jolly Cola with the last 2 times when I order a Coca Cola? (That is false marketing). I hope this is not a USA ban we are talking about here, if so it will unfortunately be a Bøff Burgerbar ban from here. Good day - Please reply.

21/11/2025: Ordered online at 5:50 PM with delivery at 6:23 PM…. Had to call several times and the pizza arrived at 7:30 PM.

03/05/2026: Ordered two pizzas through Wolt where I received a completely wrong pizza and the other one was nowhere near the one in the picture. Wolt support contacts the restaurant to have a new order sent, after which the restaurant rejects it. Fortunately, Wolt acknowledges that our order is completely wrong and refunds the full amount. I think this experience is beyond criticism.

01/07/2026: We had a really bad experience and have written to the restaurant afterwards, without any response after 2 weeks - therefore the email is reproduced here - We were 12 for dinner on Saturday and despite all agreements NOTHING was ready - it was so embarrassing!!! I have ordered water in advance for everyone who just had to stand on the tables when we got up from the go-cart, as well as starters - various snacks and fries, as well as all the burgers that could land 5 minutes later. Then there would be time to order individual drinks and everyone would be able to order any desserts etc. before the kitchen closes at 8pm It took about 15 minutes before we had anything to drink - 20 minutes before some fried chicken and fries came and about 45 minutes before the burgers came and then they had missed the 3 of them, so 2 of them waited another 10 minutes and the very last one another 10 minutes, which meant he got his food when everyone else had eaten theirs…..not okay- not at all This is simply so poor of you - I can't be familiar with inviting the staff on a date and then offering them this. There were about 6 other guests besides us the whole evening, so it was definitely not due to the busyness either. Burgers came, but not all of what I had asked for as starters. I am somewhat surprised by the experience, Sallies seemed to be a place that was used to larger parties and much higher pressure on a Saturday. We have to conclude that it is not! The waiters really tried to save the evening, but unfortunately the race was over. I simply don't understand how it could go so wrong for you? Everything in the booking seemed professional and that everything was under control and we just had to sit back and enjoy a nice evening - but then there was NO communication to the place??? At least my table reservation was noted - but it wouldn't have been necessary because it was really empty, which surprises me a bit, but if our experience is the norm then I can actually understand it. Today I've heard about really slow fast food, about staff going to the toilets together and yes, about if we pass by again we can order via WOLT so we have a little bit of a wait.... On site they were welcoming and apologized a lot and gave a card and water etc. as compensation but basically, if it had been without a bill, I would still have preferred that it had gone as planned. I am writing to you because you need the information to look into what is going wrong - this must not happen if you are going to run the restaurant. Is it completely unique and has never happened before or is it not uncommon? Because then some work procedures need to be looked into. I had hoped that the trip on Saturday would be one that the staff talked about with enthusiasm and remembered for the coziness and the good food - but unfortunately they will never forget the experience for completely different reasons and there will be jokes about Saturday in Taastrup for a long time. Fortunately, most people thought the food was ok - however, I thought you should try your Portobello burger again, the way it is prepared is not good. It seemed overcooked, wet and sloppy - not super delicious, but unfortunately - right in the situation it hit home in my overall experience ☹ Furthermore, I thought it was a quite unfortunate situation to put your staff in - especially since it could have easily been avoided yes - it was not a great evening and I had actually expected a reaction after my email. They're probably fine for a drop-in evening - but I wouldn't recommend this place for anything important.

13/07/2026: Got a pretty boring vegetarian sandwich for 65 kroner. Their meat sandwiches are supposed to be very good, but they should do something to spice up their vegetarian sandwiches a bit. A little chilli wouldn't hurt.

12/06/2026: 2 stars. Unfortunately, the quality of the meat was really bad. I had such a bad stomach that I had to stay home from work the next day.

04/02/2026: I celebrated my birthday here on a windy and cold Wednesday. Sat by a warm wood burning stove and had the best service I have experienced in a long time. The waiters were charming and sweet, drinks and snacks were top quality. The lunch menu was nice, but nothing special. Still 5 stars for the lovely atmosphere, I have never felt more welcome

27/01/2026: While I was staying at the hotel I dropped in for dinner. I had the 3 course menu (Cod Ceviche, Coq Au Vin and Creme Brulee) and it was lovely. Was delivered promptly and tasted great. The place is decorated very nicely too. Thanks!

28/06/2026: Extremely poor service, not just us but something other guests were also talking about as they ate. A snail costs 45 kr/piece, 144 kr for 2 cups of coffee with milk and one bun with cheese, they "plant a milk carton on the table" with the words, "fill it yourself", - "can we have it heated for the coffee?", - the owner as we understand it speaks Swedish, and says to "the young serving lady" that it will be 5 kr extra so -and only if we have time- you have to wait" !! We then wait 10 min, the coffee is cold now, I take it "black now", others meanwhile get overcooked eggs they say, extremely bad service "says another". Now they could not take 5 kr to heat the milk on a VISA card, we had no cash which is quite normal in today's Denmark. The end of it was that the owner demanded either the min. limit of 10 kr on a VISA card or that we found a "five" somewhere in town. Honestly, compared to all the positive experiences we had collected on Bornholm, this is a A place I'll never set foot in again. You get the furthest in this world with kindness, so the price can be quite high regardless.

24/06/2026: Shitty experience! We ordered through wolt and there was no cutlery or napkins even though we had ordered it There was 1 skewer missing from all our 3 menus and our adanan kebab skewer was completely black and dry as dirt! Stay away shitty food and shitty service

21/03/2026: when you order a pita bread with a faxe kondi without red cabbage it does not mean that you have to fill the pita bread with red cabbage recommend never eating here again, never got mix faxe kondi

13/07/2026: We visited Esmée for a work dinner, 10 people and had a really good evening We had ordered the menu in advance, so we almost only had to choose drinks. We ordered some extra starters and desserts for our menu of the day, which naturally came a little after the other, since it was not ordered in advance. But the food came quickly, it was filling and tasted great. It is generally a pricy place, and I would not choose it if I had to pay the price privately, I did not think that price and quality are completely related. The prices are quite clearly high due to the location.

04/07/2026: I had a strawberry ice cream dessert and it tasted amazing. But the waiter was very rude and also asked for a tip. It is not appropriate anywhere for a waiter to behave like that and ask for a tip, especially not at Esmee.

06/06/2026: I have given them good praise before, but after today they simply have to have 0 stars. We order 2 pizzas and a pasta. But there is confusion on the phone and we explain that the calzone should NOT have pasta 3 times, it is 2 different orders. When I arrive there are 2 pizzas and no pasta. Then one of the employees stands up and becomes unpleasant in his tone and says that it is our fault. It is simply rude and similar to treatment when you are a regular customer. I refused to discuss when the tone was so unpleasant, another customer in the store was clearly also quite shocked. There is no form of customer service, on the contrary it is all our fault. If it were me I would never have treated customers like this, neither regular customers nor new customers. The food was also questionable. I get a calzone with pasta with almost no filling, the pasta was for the children so I had to pull the little pasta that was out of the calzone for them. But it is nice for them, they have lost a regular customer
