06/10/2025: I was at a wedding here. The rooms were nice and the bed was good. The toilets in the basement had poor ventilation, so there were leftovers in several of them...not so delicious! The food was honestly disappointing. The meat was tough, the dinner consisted of a bun with coleslaw and pulled pork without any garnish or vegetables. The staff repeatedly had no idea who should have allergy-friendly food and the allergy-friendly food consisted of gluten-free bread, which the guest could buy themselves at Rema. The castle could have gluten-free homemade pastries in the freezer and the gluten-free dessert consisted of apple porridge and a sikkerkade. It seemed as if they had forgotten to shop and had just used what they now had of leftovers. I would not recommend the place because of the food.

04/10/2025: An extremely unpleasant experience. During a party, a waiter dropped a saucer on my leather jacket, she acknowledged the mistake and asked me to send the jacket to the place. After that, an email correspondence began where the tone quickly became both condescending and arrogant. Among other things, they claimed that the jacket was old and dirty (it is 1 year old and this is the 3rd time I have worn it!) Then they insisted that I had to pick it up myself, instead of taking responsibility and providing a proper solution. The way the management has handled the matter has been unacceptable. The entire process has been characterized by an unpleasant and disrespectful approach, which has left me both disappointed and angry. I can in no way recommend staying, eating or hosting parties at Sofiendal, the treatment I have received deserves the worst reviews that can be given!

17/10/2024: It was below average of what I expect from a grill. It was half dingy, the chairs for the little ones were dirtier the more you looked at them. They didn't have pizza even though it was stated at the front of the menu card. The side dish for the nachos tasted weird (maybe it was bad?). The burger was half lukewarm. The fries were good. Not a place we will return to.

17/09/2024: You get what you expect. It's actually pretty decent for a snack bar. The guys who work there try hard. But it was pretty dirty... the floor and the tables.

24/09/2025: We order Food to take away last saturday 20 of september, but when we Came it was close everyone was sick. We did not get food and still not have the money back,we have came back to try to get the money and send email, but still no money

11/09/2025: We entered an almost empty restaurant and were greeted kindly, but with a "warning" that they couldn't serve draft beer at all. We could live with that, so the husband ordered 1 glass of red wine and I ordered sparkling water. The husband ordered and received an excellent piece of beef. I was tempted by the special offer sign on the table, which showed a schnitzel with a pile of fried mushrooms and accompanying fries and sauce. It was brought to the table by someone other than the one who took the order. I was told that it was a mistake, that I had not been told that they had run out of mushrooms. Despite this, the kitchen prepared the food, without taking the initiative to suggest to me whether I would rather order something else. Instead, she suggested a salad without charge and coffee after the meal. I said, as it were, that it was a poor substitute for what you have just been looking forward to. I asked if there were any mushrooms in the salad bar that they could fry? But no, there weren't any. At that point, it was finally suggested to me that I might want something completely different. I said no, a bit of the fun disappears when one person has eaten and the other has to sit and wait. I poured sauce over my meat and it slid down. Then the man looks at me and says "you'd almost think they're going bankrupt" A little later, the waiter came over and asked a little awkwardly if it was good after all. To that I replied: "When the draft beer system doesn't work and you don't have the ingredients that were marked on an offer on the table, you'd think you're going bankrupt"? She answered YES to that, the restaurant is closing at the end of September. She told me a little more, which I won't repeat here, but it's not fun to be a part of. We wished them luck in finding a better workplace.

24/05/2025: I was able to get in with my wheelchair. The food was excellent, service and friendliness were top notch.. This won't be the last time we eat from here when we are in the area.

30/10/2025: Got tapped on the shoulder and told you have to go,, had done nothing, stood with my colleagues, and I wasn't allowed to drink my beer that I had just bought,, will never come to zwei grosse again

17/06/2025: The food doesn't work for take away as it's simply not hot enough. 2-3 minutes walk and the food was cold. Salads looked really nice, and so little of each that it almost looked like it was for decoration. Price-wise it's also on the high end, especially considering the quality. I was disappointed.

10/08/2025: I ordered two baked pizzas for me and my sister, they didn't taste like they were baked through unfortunately

19/07/2025: Nice staff. The food was a little less good though. Ordered a House burger where the steak was pink. And the pizzas were soft. The filling was also only at a minimum.
