29/11/2024: Had booked a table for brunch, which was good as there was a full house. The most delicious food, the sweetest waitresses. Pleasant atmosphere Such a shame this place is closing - they get my warmest recommendation

01/06/2025: Really delicious food and super friendly service! The new owner is incredibly sweet and welcoming – you always feel welcome. The quality is top notch, and both the pizza and grilled dishes taste fantastic. Definitely a place I would recommend!

02/11/2025: Unfortunately, the food was generally underwhelming and did not live up to expectations. Several dishes lacked flavor and balance, and the overall impression was that the menu was not well thought out, which was a real shame, as we had otherwise heard very good things about the place. Unfortunately, we felt neglected most of the evening. The waiters did not follow up to see if we were ready for the next serving, and there was a very long time between courses. This meant that dinner dragged on, and we ended up sitting there until 11 p.m., when the restaurant was largely empty. In addition, the staff seemed very confused about how to handle a pregnant guest at the table. They did make alternative dishes for her, but it was clear that they were not prepared for the situation – and did not quite know what a pregnant woman can and cannot eat (e.g. avoid raw fish and predatory fish). It created a slightly awkward atmosphere and made the experience less relaxed. All in all, the visit left an impression that both the dining experience and the level of service unfortunately fall short of what one would expect from a place in that price range.

31/12/2025: We had a really good experience at this café, and a very big thank you to Matilda. From the moment we arrived, she was incredibly kind, attentive, and welcoming. She went above and beyond to accommodate all of our requests, especially for our toddler’s breakfast. Matilda checked up on us regularly and made sure we were comfortable the entire time. As tourists visiting from London, we felt genuinely welcomed and well looked after. The food was absolutely delicious. Everything from the service to the atmosphere was spot on. Thank you

18/01/2026: Beautifully located, historic old buildings dating back to 1313. Renovated with style and exudes peace and spaciousness. Beautiful views from several of the large windows, the park becomes part of the experience even if you stay inside. Beautiful renovated meeting rooms of varying sizes. The food in the restaurant lived up to expectations and as a vegetarian the quality and taste were also top notch. The staff are friendly and welcoming.

01/01/2026: Stay New Year's Eve 2025/2026... Good food and a lovely evening with dining etc. and DJ music from 9:00 PM... Was at the reception and complained about water leaking out of the sink drain, the floor got very wet.. was not attended to by staff it was not okay.. otherwise a good experience... happy new year

03/10/2025: We've been coming here for ice cream over the past few years. Unfortunately, the quality of the ice cream has deteriorated. We ordered scoops of ice cream with GUF. They also cut back on the GUF. We were disappointed.

07/06/2025: The ice cream at Okkels is homemade, generally tastes really good – and yes, it looks good on Instagram too 😉 I’ve only been disappointed once… and that was probably mostly because my expectations were as high as the price of a scoop. It’s not the cheapest ice cream in town, but you get quality and taste for your money – and sometimes that’s just what you need on a sunny day (or a grey Tuesday). All in all: A delicious ice cream experience – with a little luxury on top. 🍦

06/12/2025: I have rarely been so well received at a restaurant. Asger Langeskov in particular was incredibly empathetic and funny throughout the evening. We felt super safe and informed. The way he presented the food was absolutely exceptional! He definitely deserves some kind of pay raise! Thank you so much for a fantastic evening Asger and the rest of the restaurant 🙌😋 We will definitely be back when we come to Aarhus this summer.

11/11/2025: Steak in this place is incredible. They have this particular way to take the orders filling out a postcard. I had the #65, 400gr-Ribeye with fries, best I’ve ever eaten. Service is very friendly, English speakers and a decent waiting time. The place is small, you can watch the grilling, quiet for pleasant conversation, sober decoration, clean and organized—don’t expect a party inside—I definitely recommend this place. Prices are slightly over the average but worthy.
