08/03/2025: Mellemfolk cafe is a gem in Århus. The best thing is its relaxed atmosphere and the purpose of creating a better and inclusive world. The cafe is run 100% by volunteers and profits go to social projects around the world. They usually do weekly events so it's a good idea to follow them on Facebook.

22/02/2025: Great place to hang out, volunteer or spend time with friends! Lots of things happening here, don't miss the opportunity to come. Plus the food is always great, would really recommend global kitchen days. The only thing is that it's a pity they don't include more gluten free options.

11/08/2024: Really good pizzas, but unfortunately one of the pizzas was not up to par with the others. We had ordered pizza with salsiccia, with potato, ham, and they were all absolutely terrific and among the best I've had outside of Italy. The last pizza was with meatballs, and here the quality was lower. Regular grated mozzarella was used instead of buffalo mozzarella, and it drags it down. However, it is important to say that the standard for their pizza is very high and somewhat higher than pizza that you get elsewhere in Aarhus. It is authentically Italian - or as close as you can get in Denmark. In addition, the two owners are very nice, and the atmosphere is top notch! All in all a place we will come again.

01/02/2025: We had an amazing dining experience here. The fish and dishes were fresh, appetising and finger-licking. We ended up being incredibly full! I really enjoyed the dessert as well, mochi with ice cream... yum the waiters were charming and polite. We will definitely get back there!

06/04/2025: If you order cakes, remember to be specific with the details. Got white chocolate instead of marzipan, the gel was not set properly and the decoration was half of what was promised and even shown on the website, and the text on the cake was not correct, however we chose not to say anything as it was just a single letter. When ordering it, however, there was also an indifferent atmosphere where you might be looking for a layer cake / cake for +6 people, but they only had 2 cakes, one of which was a chess cake which they promised they could keep for lights and decorations, but it just tumbled around instead of... Maybe you should have left, but they were supposed to be so good…

01/04/2025: I bought 2 mini Othello layer cakes and a Tarte AU Lemon and they were good. Very good cakes, made from good ingredients, that tasted of something. The raspberry marmalade was almost like eating fresh raspberries, and the marzipan perfect, and the layer cake base was in Jutland "Møj go", and that is high praise :-)

14/03/2025: Very strange atmosphere on such a Friday night. The waiters were confused and you could tell they wanted everything to go quickly. They promise bread for all pasta dishes, but I didn't get that. In Italy you always get the option to add extra cheese, garlic, olive oil etc., but not here. The pasta was actually nice, but I don't think everyone would be satisfied with it. So at DKK 162 for a pasta dish it is very disappointing.

05/03/2025: We had the pleasure of staying at the Hotel Royal for a couple of nights, and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The hotel is located in an elegant and charming neighborhood, making it both visually appealing and easy to access. From the moment we arrived, the check-in process was seamless, and we were immediately impressed by the exceptional hospitality of the staff. They consistently went above and beyond to ensure our comfort, offering assistance with anything we needed and providing thoughtful recommendations to enhance our stay. Their genuine warmth and attention to detail made us feel truly valued as guests. Our room, while not particularly spacious, was impeccably clean and thoughtfully appointed to maximize comfort. The high standard of housekeeping was evident throughout our stay, contributing to an overall sense of relaxation and ease. In summary, our experience at Hotel Royal was thoroughly enjoyable, and we would not hesitate to return on a future visit. The combination of excellent service, comfortable accommodation, and a prime location makes this hotel a wonderful choice.

Located on the old ferry "Sorte Louis", the café cradles calmly on the water and offers guests an incomparable view of the harbor - a perfect place for a relaxing moment away from the noise of the city.
