27/08/2026: I chose not to eat there. I arrived and asked for a table for one. Because I hadn’t booked they could not accommodate that due to a large company. Mind you, I could book a table online and go back in 15 minutes. So, a ad libitum restaurant cannot handle one person! They asked me to come back an hour later! The food may be good - I will never know! Don’t ever let the chef handle booking!

25/07/2026: Don’y go there, restaurant stopped operating (and didn’t even care to update that on Google maps). So no feast at all.

26/07/2026: Had food from there for the first time. Really good burgers. Huge. We couldn't finish them. Super delicious burger buns. Good homemade steaks that were perfectly seasoned. Will definitely be back😍

07/09/2026: Their chili burger is amazing. You think it's expensive, but the taste is. However, I think their coffee tastes like their machine isn't cleaned and they charge 10kr for water even though you've paid 250kr for food, smoothie, coffee, so it's a bit unsmart

07/05/2026: Violent, unprofessional and downright embarrassing experience with Tangkroen. We had booked a christening with around 60 guests, received written booking confirmation and paid the reservation fee. After we pointed out some discrepancies in the agreement and asked very basic questions about additional costs (among other things, 20kr per person to get a tablecloth?), the situation developed extremely unpleasantly. We simply asked them to deal with the misunderstanding that we believed had occurred. Shortly afterwards, Tangkroen – without any legally valid justification – unilaterally chose to cancel our event just 10 days before it was to take place. We were suddenly left with around 60 invited guests and were forced to find a new location at extremely short notice. The owner reacted violently - shouted that he did not want to talk to us and simply hung up when we tried to clarify what was clearly a misunderstanding between the parties. The cancellation was not due to non-payment, threatening behavior or breach of contract on our part, but solely because, according to their own statement, they “did not want to continue the collaboration”. The most remarkable thing about the whole process is that we have maintained a critical but sober tone throughout and have only made moderate and completely legitimate criticisms of the circumstances surrounding the event. We have the full email and text message correspondence and are happy to provide it if anyone has any doubts about the process. Since the owner will most likely deny the process. Only after legal pressure did Tangkroen partially pull back, but by that time trust was of course completely destroyed. We now have a lawyer on the case, as the owner still does not want to address his handling of the process or engage in a real dialogue. We have never before felt the need to publicly criticize or write a bad review of a restaurant. However, the way this matter has been handled is, in our opinion, far beyond the limit of what one should accept as a customer. Mistakes and misunderstandings can happen anywhere. But the way this was handled was, in our opinion, shockingly unprofessional and a far cry from the service and seriousness one should expect at larger family events. We have never experienced anything like it.

27/09/2026: When we arrived we had to find the table we had reserved ourselves. We had to sit in the train carriages outside. Not ideal when you have two elderly people with you. And we were sitting so close. There were 7 of us. No one came to give us menus or ask about drinks. The young people definitely couldn't multitask. After 20 minutes we had to grab a waiter ourselves. Had to order a buffet as the a la carte would take a long time. Elderly people and stairs and plates are not a good combo so we moved so we had to sit outside. The food was ok, but there was just never enough of it and it was definitely not hot. Several times we had to ask them to refill it. And it took a long time. They had no overview. It seemed like they had too many guests to serve them. Would not recommend the place to others.

25/09/2026: Friday - my wife's day off, and in the nice weather I booked a table for lunch at Tiende, which I had heard very well about, among other things, through the Aarhus Restaurant Guide. Was greeted by a smiling hostess - and was shown to our seats. Water was quickly brought to the table - sparkling or not, that's how it should be! We started with a glass of Prosecco - fruity - cool, a nice starter. Then we placed our orders - my wife a shrimp dish, and I, who is about to eat my way through the different versions of Boeuf Tartare at the restaurants in Aarhus, - a.....Boeuf Tartare indeed ;) My wife got a Grüner Veltliner for the shrimp dish, and I a glass of full-bodied Rhone for the tartare. You often see a bit too stingy pouring of wine around, - and don't worry - I'm of course not the type to have wine to the brim, at all, but to the "belly" of the glass, and here there was no stinginess, nice pouring - thank you for that! The shrimp dish was beautifully presented - it looked inviting and delicious, and so was the Boeuf Tartare, with fries as a side dish! Now fries are not just fries, it is a bit of an art to make them crispy on the outside and soft and delicious in the middle! Here they were cooked perfectly - so kudos for the preparation! Now I have tasted lots of the aforementioned tartare at home and abroad, so I have a pretty good basis for comparison. The tartare here was plentiful and okay salted and seasoned, but still a bit bland, and without much character, but that is how they have chosen to prepare it here on site, but there is a good distance to Restaurant ET's Boeuf Tartare, which is in a class of its own in Aarhus according to my humble taste! My wife was ok with her shrimp dish, but the shrimp that I tasted were completely without character and reminded me most of the cotton swabs you get when you go to the dentist. It's a shame when there are so many good versions of shrimp that are both firm and have a characteristic shrimp flavor! We finished with petit fourre - accompanied by americano and cortado - fair flavor without reaching the level of the masters of the Latin Quarter, and you can't expect that either. The service was quite impeccable, friendly, welcoming young people who helped create an informal and good atmosphere. In the nice weather, we sat outside on the terrace and enjoyed the tasty petit fourres, coffee and a grappa for the gentleman. Breathtaking and lovely view of the island and the harbor - a good experience! In terms of service and atmosphere, it was a really good experience, which I can recommend, but unfortunately disappointing in terms of food, - the tartare is a matter of taste, but the shrimp were of deplorably poor quality, so that needs to be changed. Shrimp MUST have crispness and be firm, - have a distinct shrimp flavor, and not like cotton swabs, which these unfortunately were! The bill was DKK 1275, - which in essence should not be a problem, but then the quality should also be matched, and it was not quite! But I would give the place another chance, - it was all in all a good experience - so thank you for the staff and atmosphere, and the view is self-explanatory, but still - breathtaking!
