05/05/2025: Nothing less than an amazing experience. My wife invited me to the theatre, so I wanted to find a great place nearby for dinner. We’ve visited hundreds of restaurants in the city center and other neighborhoods, but we haven’t spent much time in Østerbro. Honestly, I chose Barner based on ratings, the menu, and the photos. It exceeded our expectations, and we can wholeheartedly recommend it to others. We’ll definitely be coming back. By the way, we ordered all the starters and first courses to share and can recommend every single dish and the amazing wine as well.

30/03/2025: Very pleasant experience. The food was tasty and well balanced on flavours. The presentation of the plates is very nice and the service was incredibly professional and attentive. I recommend to book a table specially if you are thinking about going late in the evening (close to 19:30/20:00) since it was packed at that time)

08/03/2025: You hope to find a place like this every time you come to a new city. But you are usually disappointed. You won't find that here. Good selection of beer and drinks, smoke-free environment, lots of coziness and good service!

Unfortunately the kebab was flabby, tasteless and boring. 50 kr for a durum is actually more than fair, but not when you get a thin and small roll that leaves you both hungry and dissatisfied. The man who served me was incredibly sweet, the fries were solid, but unfortunately those are the only factors that pull it up. It is critical to be neither full nor satisfied. I will definitely not come back.

21/08/2025: Always delicious and tasty food with high quality. Super good and flexible service. Sandwiches are also delicious. I had a group of Zealanders over for an event, and several said it was some of the best food they had had at similar events.

13/03/2025: We had a fantastically beautiful and tasty tapas dish. Finally a restaurant that understands that tapas is not just cut-off cold cuts. There were several small dishes, salads and tapenades here and everything seemed homemade. The accompanying bread did not quite live up to the rest. I would like to pay a little extra to be able to choose a good coarse sourdough bread instead.

18/12/2025: Cozy place with a really good atmosphere and a nice selection of beers. The website says, among other things, “We strive to make as much as possible from scratch!” The same cannot be said about the Christmas service at 378 kr. It is a crazy price compared to the quality. Herring and pork roast were acceptable, the rest was tacky. The fish fillet was tough and mostly breading, chicken salad, tartlet, liver pâté and brie cheese were below average and the rice was a bit creamy with a little almond flakes. I think you should stick to the lunch you normally serve.

12/01/2026: We held our wedding at this cafe. It was wonderful. The staff were very attentive and friendly. I highly recommend this place.

14/11/2025: We tried to come here for dinner with my friends and, unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing. We asked if we could eat there even without a reservation, and they said yes — but then they didn’t want to tell us what options were available. I asked if they had any vegetarian dishes, and the only answer I got was that they could prepare “a salad.” The attitude felt unwelcoming, and overall the service was not friendly at all.

15/12/2025: Definitely acceptable Chinese food at affordable prices. Large selection, menus and buffet. Suitable for small and large groups. Generous portions.

07/02/2026: I have been to the restaurant quite a few times, but this time it didn't exactly end up being a good experience. When I'm at restaurant Svendborgsund, I usually order a round of plaice fillet with some fries. Because it's something I know tastes good and it's actually a decent portion of food, but the only thing is that the dish itself is under their children's menus, which I personally think is pretty irrelevant as long as the food tastes good. When we were about to order, when I mentioned what I would like, plaice with fries. Then the employee said something to the effect of whether I'm not a little old to order from a children's menu. Which I think is completely disrespectful to say to a customer, and believe me, I work with customer service on a daily basis. So all in all, the food actually tastes really good. BUT the staff should really think twice when handling a customer's order, and this experience has genuinely reduced my desire to eat there again.
