27/09/2026: Lunch at Kanal Caféen in Copenhagen - a truly quintessential Danish experience. We had the smørrebrød platter with herring, salmon, and shrimp, all very fresh and beautifully presented. It was truly delicious, one of the most authentic places we've tried. A little pricey, but we're in Copenhagen, and quality comes at a price. The location is beautiful on the canal, well worth it. Must try!

27/09/2026: Nice location and good service. The place is known for its open sandwiches and cold dishes. Ordered a piece with plaice and one with marinated herring. The plaice itself including remoulade was ok and tasty. The herring, on the other hand, was a disappointment. I guess it came straight from a glass at the cheap end of the scale. For both open sandwiches, we were served a boring rye bread, which you can get in a bag at the local supermarket. Despite the fact that the food may not have quite lived up to expectations, we still had a really nice afternoon.

24/08/2026: They serve the exact same touristy smørrebrød as on Nyhavn (the perpendicular street). But here they cost 160 SEK, while just ten meters away the price goes up to 199 SEK. We tried the fish smørrebrød platter, which we enjoyed, unaware that there were much better options available, but mostly outside of Copenhagen.

15/09/2026: Amazing place!! The waitress, Amen, is an absolute angel ❤️ I don’t eat meat, and by accident we ordered a dish that contained chicken. We explained the situation and asked what we could do, and Amen replaced my dish without any problem. We didn’t even have to pay extra, which we thought was unavoidable. It was the best Pad Thai I’ve ever had!! Highly recommend 🫶🏼

07/09/2026: We were there on 08/23/26, the place looks simple at first glance, but when we looked at the details, these candles in bottles, wooden benches and many other interesting things, we were very impressed. We recommend visiting Woodstock Christiania!

08/08/2026: We stopped for a beer. Beer is 27-30 DKK, a very good price. It's a 60+ place in the city center. Bottled beer only. Sandwiches are around 25-30 DKK, so much cheaper than in the city center (nothing special, but edible :) ). The staff is very friendly and attentive :) They speak English. There's a distinct musty smell inside - we sat in the open-air section, which was perfectly fine. But no one goes to this place expecting the luxury of a restaurant, just a more cool, hippie atmosphere :) I recommend it! :)

30/09/2026: Worst café experience ever. Never experienced anything like it. Hair and insects in the food. Waited over 25 minutes to be served. Then we had to get the order paper ourselves. She was just hanging out at the bar and wasn't in a hurry. She didn't come and get the paper either. So we had to go up and hand it over. She was still hanging out at the bar and not doing anything. It took an incredibly long time for the food to arrive. One of them asked if it was urgent because we wanted to order an extra coffee because he wanted to smoke a cigarette first. We had to ask the other one for another coffee. Again it took an extremely long time.

05/01/2026: A very pleasant surprise. Charming restaurant with good service. The food was plentiful and tasty, but a bit too rich. There's limited seating inside, so reservations are recommended if possible. No vegetarian options were available.

16/06/2026: Falafel Factory has been around for several years now, but usually the quality is much, much better. I ordered a Falloumi that had absolutely no spice flavor compared to the same Falloumi 4 years ago. It only had yogurt dressing and a little hummus on the bottom. There was also no broccoli spread as indicated in the description. It used to be a super good place with lots of flavor in their preparation. Maybe they should consider changing the spice and flavor in the recipes and not least the menus themselves, which have been the same for several years now.

19/09/2026: We had an excellent evening here last week for our anniversary. We had the tasting menu and sake/wine pairing. The owner explained every dish and every drink to us in a friendly and unhurried way. It's definitely one of the best dinners I've had in Copenhagen and I'll be bringing all future visitors. Tremendous value and very charming.

11/09/2026: We had a great time, they have very high quality ingredients and everything tasted amazing ✨ The acoustics can be quite challenging, but the food experience is all worth it !
