04/08/2025: Lovely food - dish of the day and strawberry dessert. Beautiful view and good service. We will definitely come again.

04/08/2025: Stopped by for a late lunch. Really delicious juicy steak and fish. Pleasant male waiter and good atmosphere. The restaurant is located in a cozy area right down to the beach, so of course we went for a walk down to the water. Definitely worth a visit 🍀

02/09/2025: The food is perfect, high quality, and incredibly tasty. You can't get better American food, even in the States. The ambiance is perfect, right down to the music, with rockabilly songs from the 50s and 60s playing discreetly in the background.

21/07/2025: Got a text asking for Downtown vouchers right after I booked a table, and then they were redeemed before we even arrived. Really low fish to rice ratio. Pieces that were topped with a lot of tuna in the picture had almost nothing in reality. Lamb sticks cost 20kr extra and sashimi 38kr extra on top of ad libitum prices. You have to order something to drink, otherwise you will be charged for water. The coffee did not come, and 30 minutes later when we ordered another one, both came. Ordered 4 wasabi, and got 2. When I asked for the rest I got a stupid comment about whether I like spicy food. General bad attitude from the server. The food tasted fine, but again: far too stingy with fish.

20/08/2025: This sort of restaurant is why some people have a prejudice against organic/local food. The most expensive meal we had in Coepnhagen, and definitely the WORST. Food is passable at best, the wine a travesty, service warm but unprofessional. Atmosphere is alright but the price is simply ridiculous. Steer clear unless you have money and time to waste. Service: Despite the reservation being for 8:30, we weren't seated at the table til 9. The staff took drink orders, but there are only a few seats available outside, so many had to stand awkwardly for 30+ minutes. Why not just let people sit at the table? Also, one of our dishes arrived without a carrot and had to be sent back for it. Food and wine: The dishes are discordant. The flavours are unsophisticated and don't mesh together. It feels like they threw together whatever they had at hand without any consideration. The first two courses were okay, if a bit small-portioned. The goat's cheese was too heavy, and the fish (which was the main course) came with a very strong sweet wine sauce that completely overpowered the delicate white fish. The dessert was the worst. How do you manage to mess up dessert? The less said about the wine, the better. One, they don't change glasses. Second, they give you very little. Two sips at most. Third, the wine is generally weak and watery and does not pair well with the dishes. Especially courses 3 to 5. I liked the concept, hence the reservation. But the execution is hideous and the price a travesty.

16/08/2025: An excellent social experiment, where culture and collective civic spirit meet to create an unusual shared evening, where cuisine, using locally sourced products, takes center stage. On the rooftop of an anonymous building in Ostebro, this splendid establishment amazed me with dishes that boasted a Michelin-starred touch, yet without excessive flourishes, and where the flavors were clearly distinct. Above all, the first course of "makarel" truly left me breathless. The young, knowledgeable staff and the well-coordinated kitchen brigade are well-matched. Organic wines (nothing special, but that's my problem with this category) and cocktails accompany the dinner, which finally allows you to interact with the Danes sitting next to you. The only slight flaw, in my opinion, was the decision not to change the cutlery during the five courses of the dinner. The price was absolutely justified. Well done, I'll be back for the autumn menu.

24/08/2025: Lækreste brunch - med matcha og friskpresset juice. God service og ja, fik jeg sagt, virkelig lækker brunch. Samtidig var der en virkelig god stemning i restauranten.

23/07/2025: Found this place during pasta days 2025. We were greeted with a big smile from all the waiters, a good start! The food was so incredibly delicious and flavorful, there was clearly a lot of attention to detail and good ingredients. Simple menu and really good service. The sweet waiter told us that they have just reopened and taken over from previous owners so ignore previous bad reviews. Huge recommendation from here, we will definitely be back🤩

09/06/2025: I've been here several times now and it's just one of the coziest cafes in the area! The food is so delicious and the staff is always super nice. The prices are also really reasonable, considering it's Copenhagen.

07/05/2025: Cozy cafe, and lovely green garden on a sunny day. Nice place for an ordinary draft beer. Quirky operation. Toilets inside the restaurant.

28/08/2025: Returned today from four days in Copenhagen at the Absalon Hotel. Excellent service, location, and the breakfast buffet were fantastic. Highly recommended.

13/08/2025: A bit too impersonal/arrogant service. So I honestly thought it was extremely bad that you can't change the sauce with another one! It's fair that you can't change the dishes, but changing the sauce can't be a huge burden.

07/08/2025: Cafe Espersen er absolut et besøg værd. Menukortet er begrænset, men det er kun en god ting, så er der håb om at det er lavet fra bunden og ikke blot varmet i micro. Vi besøgte stedet til aftensmad, og fik en rigtig god betjening, af en tjener der var uddannet og ikke blot en skolepige. Forret, rørt tatar og rejer i hvidløg, perfekt tilberedt og velsmagende. Dertil hjemmebagt brød med rørt smør; superlækkert. Hovedret, fish and chips. Lækkert serveret med tatarsauce og ærtepure. Lækre sprøde og varme pomes, og fish i lækker sprødstegt beignetdej med masser af fisk. Hertil hvidvin som vi fik lov at smage inden vi valgte; perfekt.

16/07/2025: Muy valorado y no es de extrañar. Tuve huevos benditos. Huevos escalfados, cerdo jalado, los pepinillos más deliciosos, un muffin Inglés y quizás la mejor salsa holandesa que he probado. Las tostadas Francesas de mi compañero fueron igualmente buenas. Muy impresionado y volvería cualquier día para comer allí de nuevo.
