20/05/2026: I've been out for dinner at Butcher on the loft in Esbjerg, and of course they couldn't escape a little review. The place: Inviting, nice, spacious and plenty of space. You don't feel like you're sitting close to others and it's a calm atmosphere.. The food: I ordered a great omaha. Extremely tough piece of meat and cooked it too quickly and too unevenly. The entire surface was stretched by large, tough tendons, which meant that the steak had bent during cooking and had very different cooking surfaces - in some places it was nicely pink, in other places completely raw and cold in the core. The hard connective fat was not rendered at all, but was tough as rubber. My experience should have been juicy, tender and without a halfway surgical intervention on the plate to find edible pieces. Leaving such a large pile of unscraped tendons and fat on a steak in that price range is simply poor craftsmanship on the part of the kitchen. IT'S A SUMMER! The broccolini with the green romesco is flavorful. Made from scratch, simple and delicious. The potatoes were cooked perfectly as well as the fries were crispy. But it was mediocre, nothing special. The Bearnaise sauce was the one that stole the show for me. Sour, thick and smooth, exactly as it should be. Service: The service experience here left me with a bit of a mixed feeling. When I complained about a bad experience, I was actually both seen and heard by the employee, which was positive. Unfortunately, I didn't feel like I was really being met. The reaction was marked by a 'that's too bad, but that's how it is' attitude. As a guest, I had hoped that they would have done just a little more to regain my trust – for example by offering some kind of compensation or discount, so that I would want to come back and give the place another chance. Unfortunately, it seemed a bit half-hearted. Overall: It's not a place I want to go back to, and probably not a place I would recommend.

21/07/2026: Impeccably maintained, friendly staff! We were here on vacation and picked up some delicious food. Hot pizza with great toppings. Awesome burger. And for Denmark, a first-class doner kebab, very fresh vegetables, and amazing sauces! We'll definitely be back! 5 stars!

30/04/2026: I'm honestly quite disappointed. The prices on Wolt are significantly higher than usual, and it seems like they've deliberately set them up just because it's through the app. It makes ordering extremely expensive, and it doesn't feel particularly fair or transparent as a customer. I understand that there may be additional costs for delivery, but this difference is simply too big. I've even been in contact with Wolt, who say that it's the restaurant themselves who sets the prices on the platform - so it's entirely their own decision. It makes me wonder if I'll ever order from here again.

11/07/2026: 11/7-2026... Unfortunately I am forced to write this about something that used to be my favorite pizza place with in my eyes the best pizza in the world...but now I am unfortunately forced to give one star and that is because their salad is super good but when you order your favorite pizza with extra filling sausages and bearnaise sauce which is already on and order through volt and receive this attached screenshot.. Not once but twice the last time I ordered food it was the same to say the least sad experience but then I sent an email to the owner unfortunately without a response yet anyway 🤷and today I contacted volt and they come back and say the restaurant will not compensate anything apparently their message was to customer service at volt... pizza with Xtra bearnaise sauce and sausages however it shines by being absent on the pizza again plus it SAILS in some oil or garlic oil or similar to say the least not very nice in the mouth there was a film of that fat/oil layer you get from such an experience of course it needs a little but actually so shiny when you open the lid .... 🥺🥺To put it mildly, not particularly delicious. Unfortunately, I have no idea what happened down there, but it's definitely not my favorite place or favorite pizza anymore 🤨😔 but of course I hope ALL IS WELL for you, maybe we'll see each other again at some point and it's no shame to admit that it doesn't always go so well, as my old grandmother said, I'd rather have a pizza in my stomach than in the trash can in the garden 😉. She didn't say that at all, but I think you understand what I mean, but if not, then it's just sad 🤷.....but a salad for 110 kr when everything has been made up twice, unfortunately, it's time to find somewhere else... At least for now... 😔🙏

06/07/2026: Great place with great food, we ordered a pita bread menu and a Durup with onions which came very quickly. The worker was also super sweet and gave us free gum afterwards.

17/07/2026: The soft serve ice cream tasted good, but unfortunately, the laws of physics were completely ignored. My husband was served a huge Danish soft serve on a tiny cone (about 3 cm in diameter). It was immediately obvious that this couldn't end well: The first attempt tipped over in the server's hand and ended up straight in the trash. Instead of switching to a larger cone for the second attempt, the physics experiment was simply repeated and thrust into my bewildered husband's hand. The result: Not a leisurely ice cream meal, but a stressful eating contest against gravity. He had to support the ice cream completely with his other hand and wolf it down as quickly as possible to avoid a sticky disaster. Please provide appropriately sized cones for your large portions in the future!

12/07/2026: Unfortunately, a rather disappointing experience, which makes me not come here again 👎🏻 When we arrived, we asked for two different ice creams from the assortment, but both were sold out. I honestly have a hard time understanding how an ice cream parlor can run out of some of the most popular varieties in the middle of the season. In addition, the staff seemed unengaged and as if they would rather be somewhere else. The service was unstructured, which did not make the experience any better. I had also read several reviews that you get big scoops here, but we definitely did not experience that. Two scoops almost looked like one regular scoop compared to many other ice cream parlors. All in all, the experience unfortunately did not live up to expectations, and I hope they get their assortment, structure and service under control.

01/08/2026: Really nice food. The best we've had in a while. We'll definitely be back. We had carpaccio for starters, pork jowls for mains. The dessert was homemade ice cream. Well, it really can do something. We got three courses with water and cola each for 870 kr in total. It was a very fair price.

21/07/2026: Den Blå Bistro is a grill bar that has dressed up. I got a so-called beef steak that was so grey that it had to be returned to the kitchen. The replacement was only marginally better. The accompanying fries were the saddest ever served north of the Eider – fried in the same frying oil as the breaded plaice. The wine list looks as if it was drawn in a tombola. The glasses were indeed large, but half as much of a wine that was twice as good would have been preferable. However, you have to leave it to them that the quality of the wine matched that of the food. On the other hand, the waitress was neither easy to make eye contact with nor wring out the slightest smile. And this despite the fact that the only other guest was apparently one of her friends. If that's the standard in Kolding, then don't eat out in Kolding...

04/05/2026: Nice premises. A big ÷ is that the men's toilet was right next to the main hall and it didn't smell like roses when you entered the hall.

13/03/2026: Okay. Not exciting. A week ago: Salad as a vegetarian main course, with rice and potatoes. Tasty salad - still the same, but still a drop in standard from the previous year. There are many delicious vegetarian dishes. Folding tables, but with a tablecloth. No information about buying extra drinks. Should you bring your own? A year ago: Same folding tables, without a tablecloth. Excellent vegetarian chili sin carne. And you could buy more to drink than the included drink with the meal. In short: Slightly varying impressions.

24/07/2026: We are from Germany and the food is so delicious. The service force is very very friendly and the restaurant is so beautifully designed. We‘ll coming again. :)

31/05/2026: I was passing through and stopped in for a bite to eat. The pizza was well made and really tasty. I liked it. The staff was friendly.

14/05/2026: The food went straight into the trash! The fries and nuggets tasted like they had been reheated in the microwave and the pizzas tasted weird and were lukewarm. 0 stars.

30/07/2026: Ordered 1 club sandwich + between classic and a cold smoked salmon sandwich + between cola zero. Firstly, none of our drinks were filled to the mark on the glass, the club sandwich came between 3 toasted pieces of toast that were so toasted that you would think it was made with pumpernickel bread, and the dressing in the club itself has never seen the shadow of curry. The salmon sandwich was not a great success either, a flat piece with a little salmon and egg on top, salad on the side... We spent almost 400kr on a dinner for 2, but we would have been happier with a frozen pizza for 40 from net
