10/08/2026: The best meal we've had in Copenhagen and the surrounding area. We went for the classics: salami pizza and pasta Bolognese, carbonara, and seafood... all very good, very reasonably priced (in our case there was a great offer of 99 DKK/dish at lunchtime) and a pleasant atmosphere, not shabby at all.

15/08/2026: Reasonably ok place, but I expected something more and better. It took an hour from when we were seated until the food came. It was just over the top. Got an ok ribeye steak. Asked for medium rare and it was well done. Meat was a little tough and maybe hook-ripened, as they write but I doubt it. Garnish was very sparse and the sauce a little tame in taste.

13/08/2026: Very nice meat - great vibe - but never got the dessert i ordered with my coffe - did get the coffe but no dessert Had to draw attention to it when the bill was payed - so that made it an uforgettable visit 😇

18/12/2025: There, in just one meal, I had the opportunity to taste many typical Danish dishes. The three-course menu is more than generous; looking at the photos makes it clearer.

12/12/2025: A fantastic experience and amazing meal. We had the Christmas menu which was an insane amount of food, cooked to perfection and delivered with personality. The service was fantastic, chatty and friendly. The restaurant is very cozy and intimate. We loved our visit and will look for reasons to return soon!

08/08/2026: The fries are great, the burgers are a 9 out of 10 because I prefer my meat more cooked... And you have to go early because it's usually very busy!

03/06/2026: Quiet place to enjoy variety of local beers from Dialekt brewery. Honestly, I was trying to get to Mikkeller, stopped here to grab one beer, and did not get any further. Nothing to regret. Cool music, relaxed atmosphere, friendly service. Highly recommend.

06/04/2026: Just had a gluten free Napoli pizza which was good. It’s takeaway only and there are only two seats available, so be mindful of that if you’re visiting. Gluten free base was great and not a cracker as some places use pre baked bases. They do use the same oven to cook it (real wood burning) but they do sweep away debris prior baking to cooking. Will have cross contamination.

11/07/2026: Exciting selection of specialty beers, great atmosphere and a staff that knows what they're doing.

14/06/2026: Had a great evening sampling a huge variety of different beers of Danish and other European origin. The owner is knowledgeable and did double check that I wanted a certain style of beer because it's known to be a bit divisive.

25/07/2026: The sushi was clearly made fresh, likely minutes before ordering. The rice was fluffy and soft and still a little lukewarm. The sauces were great and applied sparingly (appropriately). However, the wasabi was utterly tasteless, wasabi lovers beware. The fish, while generously portioned, wasn't high quality fish either, and had very little taste. No complaints about their ginger. We also ordered gyoza. However, as we found out after the fact, we got beef springrolls instead. They tasted fine.

01/08/2026: Best value for money bakery in the entire of Amager. Do not pay the stupid prices of Bagerdygtigt, Meyers, Lagkagehuset. Support this lovely local business who make fresh Danish pastries with love and care.

31/07/2026: We spontaneously passed by the bakery while looking for a café that was closed, and it was amazing to have stopped there. We ordered takeout and everything was delicious. The breads are naturally fermented and the pastries are delicious. We also got cappuccinos, which were very good as well.

22/07/2026: I had the pleasure of photographing E + F’s wedding here this year, and I really enjoyed being part of their day. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming, and I really appreciated how accommodating they were throughout the day. They did a lovely job introducing each course during the dinner, and as a photographer, it was great to feel that my needs were also taken into consideration. The area around the venue is also great for wedding photos. There are some really nice options nearby, from the bridge to the more industrial-looking buildings, so you can get a good mix of different backgrounds and moods without having to travel far. I also think the location is very convenient for couples and their guests, with good transport connections back to Copenhagen, even after midnight.

10/07/2026: At Brede Spisehus there was a friendly, accommodating and highly professional service. The food not only looked delicious, it tasted heavenly and made you want a dacapo. No sourness from the waitress despite the fact that we only wanted a bit of open sandwiches and cold tap water after yesterday's restaurant visit. Next week I ate again at Brede Spisehus after the funeral of a close family member. I can safely recommend the restaurant for the above reasons in addition to the opportunity to sit either under a parasol or under large shady chestnut tree crowns. There are a number of parking spaces attached to the restaurant. There was parking available at 2 pm on a regular weekday.

03/07/2026: A treat! We shared a beer, a parma pasta, a salsiccia pasta, and a tiramisu. It was all delicious! The pasta was made before our eyes with charming staff. Will be back.

12/08/2026: The hotel and its history may seem impressive at first: it is a truly iconic place. And yet, once you step through the door, you almost feel at home. The entire team at Marchal shows a kindness that feels genuinely sincere, immediately making you feel welcomed, valued and cared for. In an absolutely magnificent dining room, Mattia and Stefania bring an energy, elegance and warmth that almost make you wish the experience could last longer than just one meal. On the plate, you will find French cuisine executed with great class, precision and rigour. Michelin-starred restaurants can sometimes be criticised for pursuing originality at all costs, while forgetting that a great traditional dish, when perfectly executed, can be far more difficult to achieve — and ultimately far more satisfying. I have had the chance to try many dishes from the menu over several visits, and I have never been disappointed. Antoine’s pâté en croûte is incredible. The chicken with vin jaune, inspired by Chef Alexander’s family traditions, tells far more than just a story on the plate. The turbot is executed with remarkable precision. Every bite is a pleasure. And the desserts are truly excellent. If you are lucky enough to watch the crêpes Suzette being prepared by the chef or by Stefania, it is a wonderful moment that elevates the experience even further. Congratulations to everyone both in the dining room and in the kitchen: Mattia, Stefania, Lorenzo, Loïd, Maja, Elisa, Antoine, as well as all those I have not mentioned who contribute to making this such a wonderful family. And above all, congratulations to Chef Alexander for his humility and personality. Despite the level and prestige of this restaurant, he takes the time to connect with his guests, treat them with genuine respect and share his cuisine with a sincerity that can truly be felt. This is precisely what makes Marchal, in my eyes, so much more than simply a fine-dining experience. It is a restaurant where excellence never creates distance, and where you leave remembering not only the dishes, but also the people who prepared and served them. An experience that, for me, deserves far more than a single Michelin star.

10/08/2026: We were very disappointed with our experience at Marchal. We ordered cocktails and appetizers. The cocktails arrived quickly, but we had to wait an entire hour for our appetizers. When we finally asked the waiter when we could expect our food, he actually asked us whether we had ordered anything at all. This was extremely unprofessional and made the whole experience even more frustrating. For a restaurant at this price level, we expected attentive service, professionalism, and a much higher standard of hospitality. Unfortunately, the prices are completely disproportionate to the quality of service we received. Sadly, we cannot even review the food, as we simply never received it. We did not have any more time to wait after already waiting for an hour, so we had to leave without getting the food we ordered. Overall, a very disappointing experience. The setting may be beautiful, but the service we received was nowhere near what you would expect from a restaurant at this price point.
