15/11/2025: Lovely hotel that my partner and I always use when we visit family in town. We always look forward to coming back because of the lovely atmosphere, comfortable rooms and an absolutely fantastic breakfast buffet with freshly made eggs and where no expense has been spared on the ingredients.

23/10/2025: We had the pleasure of spending two nights at this hotel. The owner was a very nice man who took care of us. We had to check out very early and wouldn't have had any breakfast. The owner simply left us the kitchen key so we could make ourselves some sandwiches.

09/06/2026: A very wide selection of cakes, pastries, rolls, and breads. Everything we tried was delicious.

21/07/2026: Yesterday we were going to Nyborg Voldspil, and although the kids would rather have Running Sushi, we chose “human food” for the occasion and booked a table for six at Den Gode Smag. We didn’t pack spoons for the trip. We have been to Den Gode Smag twice before - both times without children - and both times we have experienced that the level of both food and service was far higher than the price level. We had high expectations when we arrived, and we didn’t even think about whether there were spoons on the table. Here I’ll take a little detour, which you can skip if you’re not interested in pricing strategy. The menu enticed with two courses for a fixed price of 265 kr. An example: If you chose Moules Frites as part of the offer, there was a surcharge of 75 kr., so 340 kr. in total with an optional dessert. If you instead chose Moules Frites for 200 kroons and the ice cream dessert for 134 kroons, you would have to pay 334 kroons in total. There are several combinations of “two courses for 265 kroons” that end up costing more than if you order the same courses as individual courses. Although it’s not a big deal – six kronor in my example – I would probably prefer the pricing to be linked in such a way that the offer always gave me a saving. We ended up thinking the offer was a bit silly, so we settled for one course and ordered three Moules Frites, a Steak Frites, a portion of nachos and a carbonara. We still didn’t have any spoons. It became a bit of a problem for me to go to the carbonara with a knife and fork, so I asked for a spoon, which I got right away. I would have liked some bread too, but I can live with the fact that the restaurant thinks bread is more of a nice-to-have than a need-to-have for carbonara. In our family, it’s every man for himself when it comes to cutlery, so I didn’t think about spoons until I saw my girlfriend’s oldest sitting there struggling with a clam to catch some sauce. I asked if she wanted a spoon, and she looked at me with big, wet, grateful eyes and said: “Yes, but aren’t you going to ask for me?” Of course I would, so I asked for three spoons, which our sweet waitress immediately came running over. As I was chewing through the rest of my carbonara (which was pretty “meh”), I noticed that the table next to me was also asking for spoons, and then it suddenly hit me: You don’t need spoons for Moules Frites at all. You soak up the sauce with the bread you get. BIG W, BIG T, BIG F! The mussels were also a bit bland, but the Spamalot was super good, and we'll try again another time and give them 5 stars for the two times we were here before. Thanks for a great evening to Nyborg and the silly mayor!

27/06/2026: The best restaurant we enjoyed during our 6-week holiday from Switzerland to the North Cape and back! A small menu, but a set three-course meal for DKK 369, no matter what you order. I had a scampi skewer with frisée salad, a steak with amazing fries, and a lemon mousse! For CHF 35, you really can't complain. We enjoyed it on Nyborg's piazza! Wonderful! I ordered two glasses of red wine with my main course and received one large, bulbous glass of Amarena cherry wine, and I thought, "Yes, that's two glasses!" After the main course, the waiter refilled my glass. Here you REALLY get two glasses! The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the food is delicious! What more could you want? If I were to return to Nyborg (rather unlikely), it would be worth the trip just for this restaurant! "Den Gode Smag" isn't a bluff here, it's our motto! Good taste! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😊

28/07/2026: Being generous, we can't give more than one star. They don't accept credit cards, only cash. Everything sucks. Avoid like the plague.

27/06/2026: Good burger and really good milkshakes. They also asked if everything was as it should be. However, it seemed more like an imposed question than a sincere inquiry 🤔 The last time I was there, the service was even better and more sincere when we were asked. The fact that they also kept an eye on how people were parking on the other side of the road was just top notch.

24/06/2026: Very friendly, helpful, German-speaking staff. Prices are slightly higher than in Germany. Payment is only possible by card.

13/07/2026: Perfect for a quick snack while driving. Located right next to the motorway and easily accessible. Everything is very clean, including the toilet.

26/04/2026: Nice people who served me a pork roast sandwich - without the rind! ... But instead with pork rind from a bag. I've never experienced that before 😬 and I doubt I'll ever do it again

10/06/2026: The house and restaurant don't make much of a fuss, but are located in beautiful nature, in quiet rural surroundings. The food was really good, and the service and friendliness of the staff is top notch. The place seems very family friendly, and there are lots of activities right outside the entrance, such as a trampoline, slide and other toys. Would recommend from here.
