02/08/2026: We were a family of 4 and got a snack basket, 2 x steak bearnaise, 1 beef/bacon burger, fish fillet with fries and desserts. The service was friendly. Got a basket of bread and pesto before the main courses, which was nice. It's not like "the old days" but the food was okay. The steaks were a bit small, but well-cooked. The garnish was fried root vegetables and microgreens, which is also more delicious than a peeled tomato and boiled vegetable. The burger was big and good. The fish fillets were unfortunately mushy, and had been left for too long. The bearnaise sauce did not live up to expectations - we don't think it tasted that much of bearnaise and was too thin, but that's a matter of taste. We sat so close to them at the table next to us that you could hear each other's conversation. Random and sloppy deco on the walls, which doesn't really fit together and contributes to a cozy atmosphere. All in all okay/mediocre - but for the price you can find several places in Esbjerg with the same menu and better quality. If they are going to differentiate themselves from the competition, they should probably stick to the old concept of beuf tournedos/English steak with bearnaise that sticks to the fork, grandma greens xl and salad with dressing.

31/07/2026: Unfortunately, I didn't have a particularly good first experience at the new "old" Gjesing Bistro. The service seemed disorganized. The young employee behind the counter seemed very uncertain and didn't have everything under control, which gave a somewhat messy first impression. The food also didn't live up to expectations. I was given a very large portion of peas, far more than you can realistically eat - which felt like unnecessary food waste. At the same time, salad came with the other dishes, without it being clearly stated, so this was not eaten either. I also specifically asked if there was tomato in my dish, as I am allergic. I was told that there was no tomato, but when the food was served, there was still a tomato on top. I chose to peel it myself and take an allergy pill, but that meant that I had to do without capers, lemon and other accessories. I had hoped for at least new accessories without contact with the tomato, but this was not offered. The disappointment is only made worse by the fact that the place has been marketed as being "like the old days". If you have experienced the previous quality, the new version unfortunately does not live up to expectations at all. In my experience, there is a big difference between the promises that are marketed and the experience I had :( All in all, the visit was unfortunately a disappointment. In my opinion, there is room for improvement in terms of service, organization, quality and handling of allergens. I hope the place returns to the level that many remember from before, then I will probably give them another chance, but now there is not much pull in wanting to go back.

08/09/2026: Quite an ordinary pizza place, where you get what you ask for. Fast and efficient production, ok pizza, but not much more. Friendly service, but probably best as a take-away place

07/08/2026: I was there at 5pm and it was locked. Got my food after an hour of waiting and when it came it was cold. The salad was rotten. The cheese was green and EVERYTHING just tasted like curry. Will never ever go back in my life and I'm only 20!

30/07/2026: Not a place I want to order from again. I experienced that when I called to order a pizza the connection was not great so I asked to be sure if it was 25 minutes it would take. It was confirmed and I arrived on time. I was turned around and annoyed to be told that it would take another 20 minutes as I had arrived way too early. When I said that I had asked on the phone if it was 25 minutes I was told that I was wrong. I also asked for an ingredient on one of the pizzas. When I got home and opened the pizza there was still what I had asked for. I would definitely not recommend this Pizzaria...

05/09/2026: Probably the worst grilled chicken I've ever had in my life. It looked too old - and tasted just that.

09/08/2026: The meat was burnt and the sauce was very weak, the price was very good for an entertainment center and better than I expected

21/07/2026: Knew it would be less than stellar, and there were unlikely any better options. The burger patty is thin and ultraprocessed, dry, and tasteless. The fries are quite good however. Extremely long queue atleast during crowded seasons, you'll be too tired and pissed off to enjoy any of the food anyway. They need better patties and a digital ordering system.

21/07/2026: After our visit to LEGOLAND in Billund, we decided to order food from this Indian takeaway. We called approximately 35 minutes before their closing time. When we called, we were asked to wait before placing our order. We ended up waiting unusually long and even thought the call had been disconnected. When someone finally came back on the line, we started placing our order, only to be told that several items were unavailable because it was close to closing time. We then asked which dishes were actually available, but the lady answering the call responded rudely, telling us to “check the menu” before abruptly hanging up. To make matters worse, many items listed on the menu were unavailable due to the closing time, and some dishes, such as dosa, were not available that day. I understand that restaurants may have limitations near closing time, but customers deserve to be treated with courtesy and respect. A polite explanation or a simple refusal would have been completely acceptable. Unfortunately, the rude attitude and poor customer service left us very disappointed.

12/09/2026: There was a large espresso machine in the bar, this looked good since we were only going to enjoy a cappuccino and an Americano. To my great surprise, the young man used instant coffee for both cups and a little hot milk in what he called cappuccino?? When asked why he didn't use freshly ground beans and the espresso machine?? His boss had decided so 90 kr for 2 teaspoons of instant coffee, I thought I was on a hidden camera, never again coffee there, the maritime environment and view were there but no coffee that could give this a greater dimension.

15/02/2026: Disappointing selection of salad. Despite repeated attempts, their "chef" would only deliver meat in the "cold cuts" category. Nice waiters and a little cartoon that the kids enjoyed. Definitely not worth a visit again.

08/06/2026: The seller was rude and apparently deaf, or not amd he couldn't hear me cause of the very loud music, take me so long to order and he got me the wrong size of order and the juice tasted incredibly bad, i'm a teenager and not an aggressive person, but this time the seller got me so mad.

06/07/2026: If you order from their own website and choose delivery, you should expect to pay more for delivery when the food arrives, despite the fact that the receipt you receive shows a somewhat smaller amount.

12/06/2026: Their pizza with beef and onion and purchased mushrooms was nothing special, very little filling, it's of course a matter of taste, but there were very few onions and mushrooms. And almost no taste.

14/08/2026: I tried using Wolt, but the application was very slow. After a long time, it appeared in the application that I was the one who could contact the staff. I contacted the staff more than once, and on some occasions, the phone was hung up on me. When I finally managed to speak with the employee, he initially said that he didn't have any students, even though I had the student's number. After I gave him the student's number, he said that the problems were with Wolt, not with the staff. The most common issue is that employees don't respond to private numbers. Frankly, this is not a justification for ignoring an employee's request, nor for hanging up on them. 16/09/2026: Not a good experience at all. I had gotten takeaway and was eating at home, but while I was eating a sushi with salmon inside, I couldn't stomach it. There was something white in the salmon, it was really tough, and it didn't taste good at all!
