28/01/2026: For the second year in a row, our Christmas shopping in Aarhus ended at Burger Boom Østergade 🫣😉 Good juicy burgers, and ad libitum snacks for the fries 😋

25/01/2026: Super good burgers and usually good service. The only downside is probably the room because the space is cramped and that means I often end up going somewhere else than standing here and waiting to sit/eat.

02/03/2026: June 2025: We held our wedding dinner here – and it simply could not have been a more beautiful or tastier experience. Right from the moment we arrived, we were greeted by a welcoming and professional staff who ensured that the entire afternoon ran smoothly and with great attention to detail. The menu was nothing short of fantastic – well-composed, delicate and with taste experiences that really lifted the day. There was clear love and quality in every serving. The atmosphere in the restaurant was warm and relaxed, yet elegant at the same time – the perfect setting for an unforgettable afternoon. And then the view must be mentioned: the panoramic view of Aarhus Harbour and the city life in daylight was absolutely magical and created a very special atmosphere that we and our guests will never forget. We are deeply grateful for the experience we had and can highly recommend the place to others – whether for a special event or just a good lunch or dinner with a view and quality in the foreground. This place will always have a special place in our hearts.

11/10/2025: A welcoming owner and host, always up for a good joke, and a fantastic atmosphere in the small "Gammel Havn Café" in Thorsminde – what more could you want? Whether you're looking for lunch or enjoying afternoon coffee with a delicious apple pie or a refreshing ice cream, the "Old Harbor Café" is always the right place. Of course, you can also enjoy a good Danish beer and other spirits, breathe in the fragrant harbor air in the sunshine outside, watch the amateur anglers on the fjord shore or the returning fishermen unloading their catch in the small harbor, or simply relax. You hardly notice how quickly the time passes, and when you leave, you're already looking forward to your next visit.

24/03/2026: A truly fantastic restaurant. Very friendly and helpful staff, great atmosphere – even in the rain. There were six of us and everyone enjoyed their meal. We'll definitely be back on our next trip to Denmark!

21/03/2026: We made a stop here on the way to our holiday home. We only had fries with garlic sauce. The fries were hot and okay. The garlic sauce was delicious. The latte macchiato, however, was only lukewarm. What I found absolutely terrible was the conversation with the staff. A mishmash of German and English. It would have been better to speak only English or only German. I personally find the mixing of the two languages ​​very tiring. Nevertheless, the service was friendly and quick.

29/12/2025: A really lovely shop with a charming Christmas corner. Elf enthusiasts will find plenty of crafting supplies here. The rest of the shop has everything your heart desires: decorations, candles, toys, clothing, Danish merchandise, and, what we especially appreciated, it doesn't have that touristy feel that unfortunately plagues so many other shops around Ringkøbing Fjord. They offer typical Danish decorations. Right next to the shop is a great café that invites you to linger, and if you like, you can even make your own candles. Simply hygge!

18/10/2025: After another beautiful day in the Danish sun, we decided to visit the small town of Ringkøbing and enjoy a five-course meal at the "Nordic" restaurant. The "Nordic" is centrally located on the market square, features stylish, minimalist decor (brick walls, lots of gray, black, and white), and bills itself as a fine-dining restaurant without a star, but with a Michelin mention. The service: exclusively tall, blonde Danish women – charming, friendly, but a bit "shirtsleeves" in the details – the table wasn't wiped despite spills, new cutlery sets were unclear, and drinks were rarely requested. Not a big deal – but worth mentioning in a fine-dining context. The cuisine follows three mottos: seasonal ingredients, hospitality, and matching drinks. The latter was interpreted rather loosely ("Fanta also somehow goes well with the food"), but nonetheless: the house-brewed beer was a hit – fresh, well-rounded, and very drinkable. We skipped the wine menu (price issue), but both opted for the five-course menu for €80, which is a real bargain for Denmark. And the food? Simply put: surprisingly delicious, honest, well-thought-out, no gimmicks, just perfectly cooked dishes with bold flavors. Course 1: A soup of "Ingrid's peas" with mussels, chives, and a piece of haddock cooked in lardo – wonderfully aromatic, well-rounded, and a great start. The whole thing was topped off with incredibly delicious, freshly baked bread with salted butter – I could have eaten nothing but that all evening. Course 2: Mackerel in a buttermilk sauce with parsley oil and roasted hazelnuts – meaty, slightly tart, with a lovely texture. The advertised horseradish, however, was nowhere to be found. Course 3: A magnificent scallop with smoked butter sauce, sweet and sour pickled pumpkin, and deep-fried kale – bold flavors, skillfully combined. Main Course (Variation 1): Beef tenderloin, cooked perfectly medium, with a crispy croquette, parsley puree, trumpet mushrooms, and Madeira sauce – classic, good, perhaps a little more bite in the croquette would have been desirable. Main Course (Variation 2): Pan-fried fish with squid and a white sauce – also excellent, especially the squid: crispy on the outside, tender and salty on the inside. Dessert: Quince, apple, ginger, and "Ivory" – a fine white chocolate in the shape of a sorbet-like ball, accompanied by another ball of quince, all in a sweet and sour apple cider sauce. Sounds good, and was delicious, but I felt it was missing something: perhaps more depth of chocolate, a bit of crunch, a fresh lemon note, or just a touch of cream. We concluded the evening with a good cappuccino in a beautiful cup and the realization: This meal was harmonious all around, flavorful, and delightfully filling – something you don't always experience in fine dining. The cuisine could be bolder in some places, dare to use a bit more contrast, add a spiciness or playfulness – but honestly: I already love this place. A must-visit on any trip to Denmark.

04/03/2026: We had booked a table for 5pm. They couldn't find our reservation. But they had a table we could borrow for 6:30pm. The female waitress was very apologetic. She was the reason we didn't go again. The food was, as usual, super good.

26/02/2026: Best danish dishes ever 👍 visited the restaurant based on hotel recommendation. Was wowed by the dishes we had. Certainly recommend tourist that dropped by Aarhus to visit this restaurant for good Danish dish. The staffs were very attentive.
