22/05/2026: Lovely restaurant with an Italian atmosphere, the owner is here himself and makes the guests feel welcome. If you have a birthday, you have to remember to say so, then there are flags on the table and you get good cakes for the whole party with lights, sparklers and music. I'm a big fan of their pizzas, the pasta dishes are also really good.

15/05/2026: Really delicious food. Varied and tasty. Good service from attentive waiter who was good at adjusting the speed of service. We were somewhat harassed by a loud party next door who didn't really "fit the place".

12/05/2026: Super delicious restaurant. Fantastic view Really good service. The food is just missing the last bit. I had a pâté - not really fantastic taste and the accompaniments in the form of cornichons and coarse mustard were perhaps a bit too banal. Chicken - delicious large portion but a bit too salty and a bit clumsy, served like a Ceasar but deconstructed, was not quite right either. On the other hand, delicious beer and wine - and three people for lunch for under 1500 is really ok. My absolute recommendation - and great wishes for good luck to the three young people who run the place

15/05/2026: Sigh. R.I.P good old Faour. I simply don't understand what the thinking was behind changing the concept from the best rolls in Aarhus to uninspired, beige take away. Ugh. I'm sorry to the core. Bring back Bentesvej!

13/05/2026: Originally was five stars but had to change my rating. It use to be a very original place, but with the new menu it's the same as any of the other 1000 Shawarma places unfortunately.

18/09/2025: This café has truly beautiful candles and decorative items, and you can also buy clothes here, but the prices are quite high! Nevertheless, it's definitely worth a visit.

16/09/2025: I've been going here for many years. I buy candles or make my own. You can always find something nice to take home in the shop. Then I can enjoy a cake in the café and relax.

16/08/2025: The most beautiful place, really good food and the sweetest owners. It can't be said more concisely and precisely. We have been treated so wonderfully by Louise and Jacob. Their open sandwiches for lunch and their evening menu are really well put together with both taste and visual expression that play really well together. Their drinks are on the fun side when it comes to the alcohol percentage, which is a rarity in other places. Only the best ingredients and liquids are used. But that is certainly not reflected in the price, as they are extremely competitive on both wine, drinks and food. As a small footnote, the place has the absolute best location if you want to see a beautiful sunset. Many thumbs up from us.

25/05/2026: We were told to wait at the entrance, but after 10 minutes we went upstairs. The staff was very unfriendly, with gossiping women behind the bar. When no one had come to take our order after 15 minutes, I went downstairs. Another 10-minute wait! And then a 30-minute wait for our burger and fish & chips. There was little to no fish, mostly batter! We will NEVER come back!!!

24/05/2026: From the outside, it looks like a nice place right by the water. But, during peak hours, we were sitting practically under the (wooden) stairs, and that is unbearable. The banging was unbelievable. You have nice spots inside the restaurant, and then you put people under stairs—don't do it! The food was very tasty, but we were still on our starters when the main course arrived. Is that a Danish custom? We aren't familiar with it, and it's also not pleasant when your fries and hamburger are sitting there getting cold. My husband's second beer sat on the bar for a very long time before he finally got it after his meal. So, all in all: good food, quite a nice place if you can sit outside, but there is still a lot missing. P.S. It is dog-friendly, by the way 👍🏻🐶

18/10/2025: After another beautiful day in the Danish sun, we decided to visit the small town of Ringkøbing and enjoy a five-course meal at the "Nordic" restaurant. The "Nordic" is centrally located on the market square, features stylish, minimalist decor (brick walls, lots of gray, black, and white), and bills itself as a fine-dining restaurant without a star, but with a Michelin mention. The service: exclusively tall, blonde Danish women – charming, friendly, but a bit "shirtsleeves" in the details – the table wasn't wiped despite spills, new cutlery sets were unclear, and drinks were rarely requested. Not a big deal – but worth mentioning in a fine-dining context. The cuisine follows three mottos: seasonal ingredients, hospitality, and matching drinks. The latter was interpreted rather loosely ("Fanta also somehow goes well with the food"), but nonetheless: the house-brewed beer was a hit – fresh, well-rounded, and very drinkable. We skipped the wine menu (price issue), but both opted for the five-course menu for €80, which is a real bargain for Denmark. And the food? Simply put: surprisingly delicious, honest, well-thought-out, no gimmicks, just perfectly cooked dishes with bold flavors. Course 1: A soup of "Ingrid's peas" with mussels, chives, and a piece of haddock cooked in lardo – wonderfully aromatic, well-rounded, and a great start. The whole thing was topped off with incredibly delicious, freshly baked bread with salted butter – I could have eaten nothing but that all evening. Course 2: Mackerel in a buttermilk sauce with parsley oil and roasted hazelnuts – meaty, slightly tart, with a lovely texture. The advertised horseradish, however, was nowhere to be found. Course 3: A magnificent scallop with smoked butter sauce, sweet and sour pickled pumpkin, and deep-fried kale – bold flavors, skillfully combined. Main Course (Variation 1): Beef tenderloin, cooked perfectly medium, with a crispy croquette, parsley puree, trumpet mushrooms, and Madeira sauce – classic, good, perhaps a little more bite in the croquette would have been desirable. Main Course (Variation 2): Pan-fried fish with squid and a white sauce – also excellent, especially the squid: crispy on the outside, tender and salty on the inside. Dessert: Quince, apple, ginger, and "Ivory" – a fine white chocolate in the shape of a sorbet-like ball, accompanied by another ball of quince, all in a sweet and sour apple cider sauce. Sounds good, and was delicious, but I felt it was missing something: perhaps more depth of chocolate, a bit of crunch, a fresh lemon note, or just a touch of cream. We concluded the evening with a good cappuccino in a beautiful cup and the realization: This meal was harmonious all around, flavorful, and delightfully filling – something you don't always experience in fine dining. The cuisine could be bolder in some places, dare to use a bit more contrast, add a spiciness or playfulness – but honestly: I already love this place. A must-visit on any trip to Denmark.
