09/08/2026: What a great coffee shop! The gronola was excellent as was the bolle with cheese. We didn't love the buns (cardamom and lemon) was much as the rest of the order. But we really loved their coffee table books and taking a break on our long cycle! Would 100% go back!

08/05/2026: Cozy little café with a quiet garden if you want to sit outside. The staff was very friendly so you’ll feel right at home. FYI: The café can be a bit difficult to spot (at least from the way I came), but just go to the entrance of the teddy bear museum and you’ll see a sign to the café there.

10/08/2026: A really lovely little bakery with a great selection of delicious baked goods! The staff were consistently friendly, kind, and incredibly helpful. It's a real pleasure to stop by in the mornings – highly recommended!

11/08/2026: There were four of us eating here: two adults and two children. The service was very friendly, but not very attentive. No one asked if we needed to deflate our beer glasses. We received the menu in German, so there was no guesswork involved. The food was delicious, no complaints there, and the portion size was just right. You can play darts there, both soft and steel. There are also two pool tables. It costs 10 kr per game. Unfortunately, there isn't enough space around the tables. But we still had fun. Sadly, no one came by to ask us if we wanted more drinks.

03/08/2026: Probably the best most flavorful Shusiiiiiiiii I've had. Tasted really nice. Super crispy vegetables full of flavor rice. And all in all super fresh ingredients. Will be back again.

12/04/2026: For my 75th birthday, we picked up all the food at Frokostbixen by appointment. Starter, main course, delicious cheeses - all with different breads and wonderful salads, as well as a fantastic cake for dessert. Everything was well prepared and super packaged for transport - easy to get to, super tasty and in ample quantity. From all the guests and me 5 stars - thank you very much Rasmus.

25/07/2026: In the shopping street, right in the city center, you will find the cozy Malt & Grape. A super fun place specializing in wine, beer, and cocktails. We did a four-glass beer tasting here. We let the bartender surprise us, and his choices were spot on! An extra nice touch is that you can also buy individual bottles and beautiful beer and wine packages inside. Highly recommended for a fun afternoon or evening!

08/06/2026: My 10-year-old son and I were spending our last night in Denmark before flying back home to the US. We picked Hindsgaul because we wanted to stay somewhere a little different, and the castle setting felt like the perfect fairytale ending to our trip. The hotel was beautiful, located in the nice quiet area with a lot of deer walking around. Since we didn’t have much time there, the actual reason why I am writing this review is amazing Maria at reception. After overhearing some guests talking about ghosts, my son got himself pretty worked up and couldn’t fall asleep. We ended up wandering down to the lobby, where Maria was working that night. She was so kind and took the time to chat with him and reassure him that there was nothing to be scared of. She even suggested warm sweet milk, saying that would help him to feel less anxious, it was so sweet of her. My son had never tried that before, but he happily gave it a shot. And somehow it worked! He slept like a baby Then the next morning our taxi didn’t show up. We needed to leave around 5am to catch a train to the airport, and I was starting to panic a little. Maria quickly realized we weren’t going to make it if we waited for another taxi, grabbed the car keys, and drove us to the station herself. Good that the station was close, that’s another big plus to add for the location of the hotel Because of Maria, we made our train, made our flight, and got home with no problems! We’ve stayed in a lot of hotels over the years, and it’s rare to meet someone who goes so far out of their way to help guests. We were only there for one night, but Maria made the maximum to help us feel completely at home and taken care of. So I am sending a huge THANKS to Maria, and Hindsgavl Castle for ending our Denmark trip on such a great note❤️ Will definitely recommend the place to others and hopefully one day I will get a chance to come back and spend a bit more time there 😊
