The whole vibe was so friendly and people were actually interested in getting to know the people who come in. If ever I'm back in Odense, this place will be a must revisit. 08/03/2026: ​I stayed at The Lodge for 10 days and had a very mixed experience. While the hospitality is excellent, several aspects of the stay were frustrating for a long-term guest. ​ The rooms are spacious and offer a great workspace for a laptop, which I really appreciated. ​ A huge shout-out to one staff member from the receptionteam. He was a "superhero"—extremely helpful with restaurant tips and consistently following up on my stay. The "4 Restaurants" Misconception: These are not hotel restaurants but external partners. One claimed to only accept cash for delivery, and it wasn't until I questioned this at reception after 5 days that I learned they do accept cards through their hotel partnership. This should be communicated clearly. I highly recommend Billund Pizza & Steakhouse nearby—the food was fantastic! ​The on-site deli is overpriced (e.g., 20 DKK for a Snickers), which feels opportunistic given the lack of nearby shops. ​Bedding & Comfort: Despite having a double bed, I was only provided with a single, small duvet. For a hotel of this standard, this felt very cheap. As a long-stay guest, I was disappointed to be charged 75 DKK for a bathrobe, and slippers were not included. I even had to go to the reception to ask for a conditioner refill mid-shower. ​Privacy & Safety: On three separate occasions, men opened the door to the women’s sauna. Since you are expected to be undressed there, this was incredibly uncomfortable and felt like a major breach of privacy. ​Maintenance & Housekeeping: You have to manually request cleaning, fresh towels, and toilet paper at reception. ​Gym & Facilities: The gym is only for "maintenance"—no barbells, just random dumbbells and a few kettlebells (max 28kg). The sparkling water tap was out of CO2 for all 10 days. Also, the two electric scooters in the lobby were both broken during my entire stay. ​Breakfast: The quality is good (great chia pudding!), but they stop refilling items an hour before closing - if not earlier. On a Saturday, they didn't even brew new coffee when it ran out. Also, as a non-pork eater, the options were very limited (turkey/herring). ​A Word of Warning ​I saw several silverfish crawling on the carpets in my room. I strongly recommend other guests not to leave their suitcases open on the floor. ​ The reception staff is 5-star, but the management of the facilities, cleanliness, and guest privacy needs a serious upgrade.

23/12/2025: It was all a bit mediocre. The food was almost okay, everything that could be saved was saved... even the maple syrup for the pancakes was too little... the only thing I could say was good, from the whole plate I got, was the brie.... I think I paid 35,- for half a cup of coffee. The service was extremely lacking... in its absence.

11/11/2025: Great Irish pub with a wide selection of draft beers from various countries. The terrace offers a dry place to sit, and patio heaters provide warmth when it's cooler. There's no table service, but that didn't bother us. The bartender was friendly. I can't confirm the negative reviews.

10/11/2025: Nice place, but very limited selection. Had some Mexican but it was a pretty bad experience - both in terms of taste and service. My friends got good sushi in return. Cozy environment.

29/04/2026: A huge recommendation for Grand Hotel Odense ⭐ They simply saved our asses when we suddenly found ourselves without a place to stay in the middle of a big conference in the city, where everything was fully booked. Yet we were warmly welcomed from the first moment and met with absolutely fantastic service. The staff were welcoming, helpful and made us feel really welcome in an otherwise somewhat stressful situation. It made a huge difference to our trip. Thank you so much – we would love to come back! 🙌

28/04/2026: Excellent location, Excellent breakfast in a beautiful restaurant. Very quiet although in central area. The double room was a bit small and had a quite small bed. Overall experience was very good.

05/04/2026: We enjoy coming to Hotel Ærø. The staff at the hotel and in the restaurant are nice, helpful and there is always a smile and a good mood.

02/04/2026: We had bought the stay on a deal. We have experienced Andreas' places where the service level is then turned down, but that was definitely not the case here. The room was fine, the staff were friendly and welcoming, and both breakfast and the inclusive 3-course menu were perfectly fine. We were able to move the stay one day with a few days' notice, just as dinner was moved from the first to the second evening, agreed on the phone in the morning where we arrived in the afternoon. Again without problems, and with a smile👍 We will definitely come again

12/02/2026: The ambiance is truly wonderful: an old building, appropriately furnished, with a pleasant atmosphere. The service, however, falls far short...everything feels rather wooden. When clearing the table, a spoonful of tomato sauce was dropped and spilled onto my trousers. I received a simple apology and a damp cloth...nothing more: no further inquiry, no offer to clean it up, and no attempt to offer a discount. Finally, the meal (a nine-course menu) was lackluster and tasteless, completely at odds with the initial impression. Overall, I wouldn't recommend it.

30/12/2025: Have only bought takeaway. Not the most pleasant place on earth when you arrive. But not bad anyway. Large pieces of sushi, where I have experience with smaller pieces elsewhere from from. Usually everything is perfect in my order and the one time there was a cracker, it was only a tub of soy.

02/10/2025: The parking lot itself is free and theoretically unrelated to the gas station. The service at the station is friendly, and it's clean and pleasant. Showers cost 3.50 euros, but there's a toilet and hot water inside. As for me, it's great 👍👍👍
