09/08/2025: The family's annual trip to Strynø always includes lunch at Det Gamle Mejeri. And we always have to have omelettes! The interior could do with a bit of a makeover. And it's a real shame that they've closed their microbrewery. Remember to book a table. It's often sold out in the summer

16/07/2025: Cute and cozy restaurant with limited outdoor and indoor seating. Booking ahead is required according to their website. The menu was very limited, with æggekaga (omelette), fried fish and burger. The food was pretty average. Unfortunately the microbrewery is no longer in action which wasn't updated on the website.

16/09/2025: My girlfriend and I have eaten at bad Asian buffets before. But this place topped them all. Except for the sushi, everything looked like it had been left yesterday. And it tasted the same, too. The calamari was like dried-out tires, and all the hot dishes were cold. The highlight, however, were the chicken skewers; ours was completely raw. We stopped eating early and went to the nearby public restroom to throw up as a precaution. We were afraid our vacation would end in food poisoning. At least we didn't have to pay for the food.

07/09/2025: The items in the buffet were left for too long and therefore not so fresh, better to refill less but more often

22/09/2025: Dear Mast, Thank you so much for a fantastic experience with your 5 courses with wine. It was such a delicious end and last evening of our holiday. The food was completely out of the ordinary and the wines were perfectly matched. I would love to come back and recommend everyone to have the same experience. Thank you to the lovely staff. 22/09/2025: Fantastic place and fantastic food and service! We ordered their 5-course menu with wines and we can't find a single bad thing to say about it all! The food was really good and exciting, the service was top notch and the restaurant itself and the view what is not to like? We were glad that we live in a camper right next door - because we were so full and a little drunk that it was nice that we were close to our "home"! Thank you so much for a wonderful experience! 🙏🏻❤️

07/10/2025: Fantastic experience in the king suite. Beautiful, beautiful surroundings both outside and inside. Really good food in the right quantities. Reasonable drink prices. Good and extensive breakfast buffet. Attentive, friendly and welcoming service all the way around. The fact that the water was not quite hot, the curtains quite difficult to close and some guests thought they should make noise until 2 in the morning is not enough to ruin the experience.

02/09/2025: The atmosphere of an old castle is always a bit magical. Hvedholm is no exception. Magnificent halls and a tower that you definitely have to experience. Don't expect a "Disney castle" where everything looks new and polished, but instead enjoy the authentic old. The service was friendly and welcoming, mainly consisting of young people, where it was clear that there were several new ones. But if you show a little patience, you will have a very pleasant experience. We got a nice room with a view of the lake. The food was a tasty multi-course menu for the evening, and the breakfast buffet was quite nice. The selection is not as large as in larger hotels, but we didn't feel we were missing anything.

11/05/2025: Min mand og jeg har flere gange være her - men denne gang var maden uspiselig!!!! Det startede som, det plejer - meget søde og imødekommende unge tjenere, der gjorde alt for, at vi havde det godt. Desværre gik det galt for maden - da den kom var den så salt, at det faktisk var uspiseligt. Vi bruger tit selv meget salt, så derfor tænker jeg, at det var godt, det var os, der fik det. Det var eftermiddag og vi var meget sultne - vi havde været på farten hele dagen. For engang skyld kom de ikke og spurgte om vi var tilfredse eller vi ville have mere - så havde vi sagt det. Men vi var sultne og tjenerne havde travlt. Da vi sagde det til den meget venlige og ordentlige unge mand, sagde han, at det var anden gang den dag, nogen havde klaget over for meget salt. Ærgerligt - det varer længe, inden vi kommer igen.

21/09/2025: Super nice place! With a good friend or with the family! Svend can accommodate both. Personal and down to earth service and atmosphere and good food made with good ingredients - that's how it tastes anyway. :) Warm recommendation from here and see you again soon! 31/07/2025: You can only order menus on their website and there is no option to choose water for the menu but only soda. You can buy water next to it but then you end up with both soda and water. So if you only want something to eat without a drink, you have to go somewhere else. If you then want water for your menu, you have to go somewhere else. I am not satisfied that you cannot decide for yourself how much you want to buy individually.

28/07/2025: While it wasn't inviting from the outside, the prices appealed to us. 89 DKK for a set meal was attractive. After a short wait, we received our food and were very satisfied. The chicken was tender and well-seasoned. You can choose your own spice level. Medium was practically not spicy, but still well-seasoned.

25/09/2025: Cozy place with a large selection of ice cream, delicious sandwiches and cheap snacks. The staff is friendly.

03/11/2024: Vores wienersnitzel var halvtør og lidt sej nogle steder. Der var smørsovs til, som efter kort tid var stivnet til en gul masse. Et barn underholdt hele restauranten højlydt under hele middagen, så ikke første, men sidste gang her😜

02/08/2025: The pizza is special yes and may smell different than some expect but it smells as it should, it is unique and different and it does not resemble pizza from other places. If you expect some ordinary pizza this may not be the place I would recommend, but for me this is the taste I know and have grown up with and it is completely its own. Huge recommendation from here.
